Rose got out of the car with Ace and her friends. They were parked next to train tracks ''Shouldn't we wait for the other boys to arrive'' Rose asked

''No they'll catch us up'' Ace replied as they followed him in the woods

''Whatever happens, don't hurt the kids. They'll probably let us take it anyways'' she told him

''No promises''

Rose rolled her eyes ''What the fuck do you know about this'' Ace said as they went downhill, revealing a small group of boys

''Some bitch! My little brother'' Eyeball huffed

''Weren't planning on taking the body from us weren't you boys'' Ace asked

''Get away man. We found him we got dibs'' one of the younger boys wearing a white shirt answered him

''Awe we better start runnin' Eyeball they got dibs'' Ace said sarcastically

''We earned it, man! You guys came in a car it's not fair he's ours'' the boy argued back

''That's not fair he's ours'' Eyeball cooed ''Well not anymore''

''There's four of us Eyeball. Just make your move'' the boy in the green shirt and glasses spoke up

''Oh we will don't you worry'' Ace smirked as the rest of his gang marched down the hill

Rose rolled her eyes ''Don't do anything stupid'' she hissed into his ear. Ace smirked and ignored her

''Fern you little son of a whore'' Vince spat as he marched down the hill ''He was under the porch''

''No, no I swear it wasn't me'' the chubbier boy raised his hands

''I'm gonna beat the shit outta you'' one of the gang members threatened

The boy ran away as Ace clicked his fingers and extended his arm, making his gang stop in their tracks

He put his arm down ''You guys have two choices, you either leave quietly and we take the body, or you stay. And we beat the shit outta you, and we take the body'' Ace offered

Rose slapped his arm and gave the young boys a look, telling them to leave

''Besides me and Billy found him first'' Vince replied. Rose furrowed her eyebrows together. She wasn't told any of this

''Yeah, Fern told us how you found him'' the boy in glasses spoke up ''Oh Billy, I wish we didn't break into that car. Oh, Billy, I think I just turned my fruitloops into a fudge factory'' he said in a high pitched voice

Rose bit her tongue hard to restrain herself from laughing. She raised her eyebrows at Vince. He looked at her then back at the boys

''That's it your ass is grass!'' Vince yelled

''Hold it'' Ace told him ''Okay Chambers you little faggot'' he pointed at the boy in the white shirt ''This is your last chance. What do you say kid''

''Why don't you go home and fuck your girlfriend some more'' he replied to him

Rose and Eyeball exchanged looks. This wasn't going to end well ''Ace, leave it'' she told him

He raised his blade and pointed it to the boy ''Your dead''

The boy in the green shirt ran away as the boy stood still ''Ace c'mon man'' Eyeball said

''Ace stop it's not worth it'' Rose told him, she took his hand but he pulled away

''Your gonna have to kill me Ace'' the boy said

''Ace stop!'' Rose yelled. Eyeball grabbed her arm so she couldn't interfere

''No problem'' Ace said and went to slit his throat, but soon backed off when there was a gunshot

The boy in the pink shirt held the gun at him ''Your not taking him. Nobodies taking him'' he told him

Rose stood next to Ace, trying to get him to leave. He wouldn't budge, but instead grabbed her arm and made sure she was behind him

''C'mon kid just give me the gun before you take your foot off. You ain't got the sack to shoot a woodchuck'' Ace replied

He stepped forward but soon stepped back as the boy aimed the gun at him again ''No Ace. I'll kill you I swear to god''

Rose couldn't speak. She was in shock like the rest of the gang. Eyeball gently grabbed her arm to keep her away

''Come on Lachance give me the gun'' Ace demanded ''You must have some of your brother's good sense''

''Suck my fat one you cheap dime-store hood'' the young boy replied

Ace smirked ''What you gonna do shoot us all''

''No Ace. Just you''

Ace glared at him then lifted his knife ''We're gonna get you for this''

''Maybe you will, maybe you won't'' the boy in the white shirt told him

''Oh we will'' he signalled for his gang to leave

Eyeball helped Rose up the hill as they followed the boys to the car. Ace leaving last before getting into the car in a huff

The car ride was in silence. If looks could kill they'd be all dead. Ace was filled with anger and embarrassment

''Do you think he'll be ready for the big drag race next month'' Rose whispered to Eyeball

''As long as he doesn't kill anyone in the practice race's, he'll be fine'' he whispered back

Rose said the last goodbye to Billy as Ace dropped him off, Ace began to drive home ''Should we get take out?'' Rose asked him

''Not hungry'' he mumbled back

Rose nodded, not wanting to start a fight with him. They soon arrived at their place. As Rose opened her door Ace was already unlocking the house door, leaving it wide open for Rose as he walked in. Rose huffed in annoyance and walked inside, shutting the door behind her.

Ace slumped on the couch ''Turn on the TV will ya'' he told Rose

''Yeah in a sec I just gotta clean the kitchen first'' she replied

''Just turn on the fucking TV'' he commanded

''No you turn it on your closer to it anyways'' she scoffed

''Don't fucking talk to me like that, woman'' he walked into the kitchen

Rose turned around ''What has being a woman got anything to do with it'' she asked

''I don't know if you've noticed, sweetheart but I'm the man of the house here and what I say goes'' he walked up to her, chests touching '' If you don't fucking like it, you can leave''

''If your so manly then how comes you got scared off by a group of kids'' Rose smirked ''And you can't tell me what to fucking do either''

''Shut the fuck up. Or I'll kick  you out'' he spat and grabbed her arm harshly 

Rose shrugged and shook him off ''Okay'' she turned around and grabbed her bag ''If that's what you want, I ain't taking your bullshit'' she walked down to the door, then turning around ''Apologise when your calmer, yeah?'' she opened the door and left

Once Rose slammed the door shut, he punched the wall again and again until his knuckles got all bloody. Then went to the living room and slumped down back on the couch in silence.

Rose headed to her friend, Connie's house which wasn't too far away. She lit her cigarette and inhaled slowly then exhaled. 'Who does he think he is?' She thought

She knocked on the door, Connie opened it. She wore a knee length baby blue dress and a catholic necklace. She had ear length curly brown hair ''Hey Rose are you alright?'' she asked concerned 

''Yeah I'm good it's just Ace in one of his moods. I was wondering if I could stay the night?'' she asked

''Yes of course, come in'' Connie smiled at her
