I sat up and looked around the room that was glowing red from his led lights

The door opened and I looked up to see him walk in holding his towel up

It was hanging low on his waist to where I could see his v line very faintly

"You up now?" He chuckled

"How long was i-"

"You got here around 6 and now it's 12 something" he cut me off

"Why'd you let me sleep that long? Did my phone ring?" I gasped

I looked at my phone seeing 10 missed calls from tim, 3 from my aunty toya, 10 from tianna and 8 from tone

i also had a text from tone asking me to come over tomorrow so I replied then sat the phone face down on his nightstand

i'll talk to the others when im better prepared mentally

"You aight?" He came over to me and lifted my chin

"Im fine" I closed my eyes

"Look at me"

I opened my eyes slowly

"What's wrong?" He asked

"I dont wanna talk about it"

He simply looked at me for a second

"Did I do something?"

"No you're okay im just going through something right now" I forced a smile

"You can talk to me about it" he let me go and leaned down with his hands on my legs

"It's okay I'll be alright" I shook my head

I could feel tears trying to come out

"Can you go to the store for me?" I asked and wiped my face

"Yeah lemme get dressed" he stood up straight

He went to his dresser and I layed down looking at his closed door

"Gg why won't daddy let me see his side of the family anymore?" I asked as me and my gg drove back from church

"Well baby his brother moved to Chicago and his sister just won't talk to him as if he doesn't exist" she explained

I looked down playing with the bottom of my dress

"Is it because she doesn't like me?" I asked

"No baby that's not it she's just being distant" she smiled

We'd pulled up at her house and I took my seatbelt off then climbed out of my booster seat

"Tonight your dad is gonna be making some gumbo and your uncle zoomie is bringing his new babygirl" she explained after opening the door for me

"So I think that means we have just a little time to play dress up before they get here" she smiled

"Really?" I gasped

She nodded her head as I hopped out of her car

He was staring straight ahead and kinda leaned forward with his arms on his legs

"Xavier?" I sat up

"Is it because of what I did at ya gg's house?" He asked making me furrow my eyebrows

"Wha- no bubba I told you you're okay" I climbed down and got on his lap
