I arrive late the next morning. Davina is seated opposite Braxton, hands clasped in her lap as she leans forward. They're deep in discussion as I enter silently, shutting the glass panel door behind me.

"I don't remember," Braxton answers, a bite to his tone.

"You don't remember the conversation?" Davina answers, her voice hindering on disbelieving. "Dylan ended up dead a minute later, Braxton. You're telling me you can't remember—"

"That's what I said, didn't I?"

I clear my throat, taking a seat in the empty armchair close to Davina. She turns to me, cocking an eyebrow. "You're late," she observes. "You've missed out on all the fun."

"Sorry—"

"Never mind that," Davina holds up a manicured hand. "I received the CCTV dialogue."

She hands me a file and I tentatively open it, placing my bag at my feet. "Read through that for a while," she instructs.

I nod, my eyes moving to find Braxton watching me. Or more accurately, glaring.

I look away, flipping open the file and scanning the contents of the page. It doesn't take me long to realise what this all means.

Dylan Bryor initially greets Braxton Patridge. The body language seems to be unfriendly, bordering hostile between both men. On closer inspection, Bryor seems to mouth Patridge's name, indicating the obvious familiarity between both males.

Following this, Patridge pushes Bryor back against his truck. It becomes difficult to interpret what Bryor is saying here because of the obstruction of Patridge's head for a few seconds. Once he moves back, it's clear that Bryor is mouthing the words 'I'm coming for all of you'.

Patridge then proceeds to punch Bryor in the face and the video cuts off.

My blood runs cold.

I'm coming for all of you, Dylan had mouthed.

"I don't remember," Braxton continues, withdrawing me from my thoughts.

"Bullshit," Davina snaps. "I'm sick of these lies. I won't continue this back-and-forth with you, Braxton. It's down to you now. What did Dylan mean by 'I'm coming for all of you?'"

"Why don't you ask him?"

Anger simmers in my stomach as I watch his stupid smirk. I can only imagine how Davina must feel right now.

"Why don't you pull your head out of your ass and realise that you're facing life in prison for a murder I don't really think you even committed?"

I watch Braxton closely, hoping for a glimpse of his innocence. I'd seen his facade fall before, but it's as though he's mastered it today.
