After the burial Normani and I took a walk around the cemetery since she wanted some fresh air. My bodyguards weren't far behind, maybe six feet away to give us some privacy

"We're having a cookout tonight, your welcomed to join us. My grandmother, makes the best peach cobbler" she spoke up breaking the silence

"Count me in, nothing beats grandma's peach cobblers" I chuckled and she smiled

"I'm really glad you came"

"I wanted to give my support" I said and she smiled sadly before looking straight ahead

"Hey Mani" I heard and we both stopped walking, my bodyguards were quick to block the guy

"I just want to talk to Normani for a second" he pleaded

Normani walked around to him and the two started corresponding. The way he was looking at her made me want to punch him in the head and knock him out cold

"Sir it's time to head back" Nick announced to me

"We're in no rush" I shrugged

"Sir with all due respec-"

"I said to hold" I gritted and he went back to his initial position, standing tall and firm

I looked over at Normani and saw that she was walking over to me. When she was back beside me, we continued our walk

"So...that your boyfriend?" I asked out of curiosity

"No, he's not my boyfriend. He was my community crush" she answered

"Was?"

"Yes was, I had this huge crush on him but he wasn't into me, he was into the girls that were easy to get at, while I on the other hand wasn't impressed by looks and quite frankly I didn't see myself in any relationship at that time" she revealed

"I've had my share of relationships"

"Of course you have, your getting married" she giggled

"Its not as it looks"

"Elaborate...that's if you want to" she said

"There's not much to say really. The future queen and I met back in college, we dated, she cheated, we ended things" I said summarizing the situation

"Who would cheat on you?" She asked then clasped her hands over her mouth when she realized what she just said

"Elaborate" I mocked

"I'm sorry" She blushed "we should be getting back to the front"

"So your just gonna leave me high and dry like that? Wow" I joked

"I meant, anyone would kill to be with the prince of Adarlan" she clarified

"True but not everyone impresses the prince of Adarlan" I answered as we made our way back to the car park

"So why are you marrying her if you you two ended things that way?"

"My parents, more like my father" I said rolling my eyes at the thought of him

"What do you mean?" Normani asked

"I'd rather not get into that" I sighed and opened the door for her, she just looked at me

"Well...what are you waiting for? Aren't you getting in? We're going to your house for the cookout" I explained

She got in and I got in after. Normani gave the directions to her house surprisingly it wasn't far. She lead me inside and it was fairly packed
