Third Person POV

Normani got up at her usual time and got ready for her first day on her new service. After getting dressed and having breakfast she made her way to the castle

"Normani correct?" The chef asked and Normani nodded as she looked around the huge all white and shiny kitchen

"Good, grab the plates, trays, cups and utensils" he instructed and that she did

"My name's James by the way" he said and Normani nodded once again not really knowing what to say

She set the trays like they usually are when they are served at the table

"Are you one from the new set?" He asked as he swiftly started making omelette

"Yeah...you a new chef?"

"Not really..."

The two made small talk amd for to know each other a little more before it was time to serve the royal family

Time skip -》1 month later

James decided to help Normani clean up the kitchen after dinner and she was grateful because the family had guests tonight (the future queen's family) and they ate...a lot

Normani gasped at feeling of water being splashed on her cheek before she playfully glared at James who was smiling down at her

"You think that was funny huh?" She asked before splashing him back. Soon the two were like kids splashing each other but that all stopped when they heard someone clear their throat

Looking over at the entrance of the kitchen, CC stood shaking her head in disapproval

"This is a kitchen not a pool area. Clean up its getting late, you two have no time to be playing around when the Royal Masquerade is tomorrow night. Make sure the meals are well thought of and you two have to be up very early to get things ready, it's gonna be a very hectic day. Chop chop" she lectured before walking off

Normani and James looked at each other before a smile made its way to each of their faces. She went to walk away but James stopped her and brushed the curly hair that was plastered on to her face causing Normani to blush

"Thank you" she whispered a small smile on her face as she looked up at the chef that hovered over her

"No problem" he answered before the two got back to work 

As they did, they were oblivious to the future king watching them the whole time. He was even there before Ciara came to confront them

'She looks...happy' he thought as he walked up to his room

'Why do I feel like a teen boy who just saw their crush making out with someone else?' He thought before storming into his room

The future queen jumped when she heard the door to the bedroom slam shut

"Are you alright?" She questioned vividly sensing his anger

'Maybe she's doing it to make me feel bad that I kissed her and ran off or just simply to make me jealous' his thoughts were so consuming he didn't even realize he had done his whole night routine

It was when he was getting in bed her realized and came back to reality

"Are you ready for the ball tomorrow night?" Kayla asked

"Yeah" he answered

"Me too. The kingdom is gonna see us dance together for the first time" she grinned
