Normani's POV

I turned around and was met with Y/N who was smiling. Maya helped me with my hair and makeup which I'm extremely grateful for

"Prince Y/N, it's a pleasure to see you" I greeted

I wasn't really mad at him for taking me off his service. If I was in his shoes I would've done the same thing

"Its nice to see you as well madam. May I have this dance?" He questioned as he took my hand in his

I nodded as a smile made its way to my face. I'm not gonna lie, I did miss him over the past month we haven't seen or heard from each other

Y/N lead me over to the dance floor and when we got there, the song changed into a slow romantic song. His hands went to my waist as mine wrapped around his neck loosely

"You look awfully familiar" he said and then remembered why I was hiding

'I should be working' I though before my mind started generating answers to respond to him

"I'm not sure if we've met before..." I lied and adjusted my mask

He looked down at me and I was in awe of his sharp and handsome features even through his uniquely made mask

"Even the voice...so soothing and beautiful. Reminds me of this toung lady that I'm very fond of" he said and caressed my cheek

"Well...just like you have look-a-likes, I'm sure you have sound-a-likes as well" I smiled sheepishly and he chuckled

"I suppose" he said, his smile never leaving his face

We danced and gazed at each other that was until I heard someone behind me speake up

"Where are the waiters around here?" One of the men said and I was once again reminded why I was hiding

"Excuse me, I'd like to use the restroom" I said to the prince as means to get out of this situation and into the kitchen

Y/N nodded and I swiftly left the dance floor. I quickly changed into my work attire and ran to get two trays of drinks

As I did my mask fell from my face and I went to go for it but I saw CC looking at me, more so glaring making me take a 'U' turn back into the kicthen

Third Person POV

CC had seen Normani as soon as the prince approached her. She wasn't too fund of the two being closer than a maid and a prince but because of the big secret Y/N knew of his mother and her, she kept her tongue

Speaking of...

CC walked to the secret hiding place she would always meet the queen which was in the last guestroom on the floor. She didn't have to wait long; as soon as she opened the door Beyoncè pulled her inside and into her arms

"That was more than 5 minutes" the queen spoke up after a long passionate kiss

"I know baby, you know I have to make sure everything's perfect...but now that, that's accomplished I have one more task to complete" CC husked and softly pushed Beyoncè back on the bed who just giggled and pulled her lover on top of her

Y/N excused himself from the dance with his little sister; Trinity, when he saw a familiar mask laying around on the floor. He took it up before putting it in his back pocket and kept it until the end of the masquerade. 

Normani made her way over to her dorm as soon as the ball ended but stopped when she heard her name

"Normani"

She internally cursed at getting caught but then she realized it wasn't the prince making her turn around

"I've been trying to find you all night" James said as he walked over to her

"Really?"

"Yeah I wanted to ask if you'd dance with me at the masquerade but we were working so, maybe you'll meet me in the middle of the maze?"

"I'd like that" Normani smiled

"Me too" he grinned "well, I'll see you at 12?"

"12" she confirmed

She watched him walk off before heading inside her dorm

Half an hour later Normani made her way to the maze and smiled when she saw a male figure looking up at the night sky with his back to her

"Your quite early" Normani smiled but her smile fell when she saw who it was

"Your highness. What are you doing here?" Normani laughed nervously as she looked around to see if anyone else was there

"Were you expecting someone else?" He questioned

"Uh...well yes"

"Well that person can wait. I'm pretty sure he can, because right now your busy with the future king of Adarlan" Y/N answered before pulling out the long lost mask

"I believe this belongs to you" he added as he held it out for her

"How do you know it's mine?" She questioned and Y/N rolled his eyes whilst shaking his head

"Do you think I'm dumb or do you think that this was supposed to hide you from me?"

"Well..."

The prince chuckled before placing the mask in her hand

"Have a good night Normani" he said and turned to walk away but she stopped him

"Your leaving so soon?" Normani asked as she gently yet firmly gripped on to the prince's left muscled upper arm

"We don't want to keep whoever your waiting for waiting now do you?"

"I mean...he can wait" she answered

Before the prince could say something in return, she pulled him down into a kiss

It was similar to the one they shared in her bedroom back at home but this felt more realistic. Y/N kissed back as he pulled her closer to his body under the moonlight

Soon the two were lost in their own world nibbling and sucking on each other's lips enjoying the moment of bliss

James rushed over to the maze as he wiped his sweaty palms into his pants. He made his way to the centre of the maze but came to a stop when he saw his crush kissing the prince

'I don't know whether to be mad or what' he thought 'I mean he is the prince, he can effortlessly take any girl he wanted but why mine?'

He smirked as he thought of an idea. Not only did he have have a crush on Normani but he was head over heels for Kayla who gave him little to no attention

Slowly backing away, he made his way back to the castle and up to the prince's room to find the future queen

When he got to the room he knocked and waited for a respomse. When the door opened Kayla rolled her eyes at him

"I know you probably don't want to see me right now-"

"Correct"

"But I have something to show you" he continued even though she cut him off

"Which is?" She asked

"Over by the maze" he rushed out hoping the two love birds weren't done with their make out session

"I have a veiw of it from here. Show me" Kayla said inviting the chef into the room

He did and pointed over to the center of the maze where Normani and Y/N were still lip locked on each other. His hands now cupping her cheek as his tongue explored hers

Kayla was beyond pissed and James smirked

'If I can't have the chocolate, I'll have the caramel' he thought as he did
