I HATE RELYING ON GODS

That night was an unlucky one.

First Dumbledore dismissed their first lead, Second, the swirling staircase took forever to reach them. And when they had finally climbed on the staircase to lead them back onto the seventh floor, they almost ran into someone.

Annabeth in her invisibility cap was unaffected while Percy and Leo had to duck behind the statues that line the corridor. Peeking out a bit, they saw a blond guy, probably a student, standing in front of a wall.

As they watched, a door appeared in the wall and the boy entered through it leaving the three of them alone.

"So this is the room of requirement. Chiron described me this during the solo session I had with him but I never knew it would be so magical." Annabeth said awed.

"Room of Requirement meaning?"  Percy asked.

"It could lead you to wherever you want to go. You just have to think about it."

"Oh, so an Anywhere Door", Leo said.

"A  what?" Annabeth asked.

"Come on, you must have watched that Japanese cartoon?" Percy said.

"She probably watched only national geographic channel since the day she was born" Leo suggested.

"Shut up, both of you. Wait here." Annabeth said.

"Where are you going?"

"To check your 'Anywhere Door' out"

Annabeth walked to the wall where that pale boy had stood and took a deep breath. Closing her eyes she was just wondering how to frame her request when she heard a creaking noise, like the one hinges make. She opened her eyes just in time to swerve away as that boy exited through the door that had again appeared.

After the coast was clear, she again closed her eyes in front of the wall and thought with all her willpower 'Lead me to the Greek son of Hecate, the goddess of mist and sorcery'

She opened her eyes to see if it had worked but in her heart she knew it wouldn't. Room of requirement leads only to a place not a person. Sighing, she went back to Percy and Leo.

"So, it didn't work?"

"Of course, it didn't. That would have been too easy." Annabeth replied.

"Now what?" Percy asked.

"If the mist between these two places is weakening, then I'm sure Hecate might be able to send us some sign regarding his son. But you know gods... it might be tomorrow or an eternity later."

Annabeth sighed. "I hate relying on gods but that's all we have. Grover's still refusing to enter the castle and we definitely aren't much advanced in wizard magic to differentiate."

"So now, sleep?" Leo suggested.

"Sleep" Percy nodded.

"Sleep" Annabeth agreed.
