In this chapter, your last name is 'Bracegirdle' but your first name will remain (Y/N).
You were just a small hobbit. A simple creature who enjoyed her tiny house and home comforts. But you had always longed for an adventure; for something to lead you off into the wild.
But you had never thought that you would actually end up in an adventure.

Flashback:
It was the night of Bilbo Baggins' party and you were simply minding your own business, walking back to your cosy little hobbit hole. You were just pondering over what to have for supper when you heard murmured voices coming from a nearby hobbit hole. As you walked closer, you realised the voices were coming from Bilbo and Frodo's house. Slowly you recognised one of the voices to belong to Frodo himself. This intrigued you as only a few minutes ago Bilbo had completely vanished in front of your own eyes; surely this meant that Frodo would be down at the party, searching for him? The second voice started speaking once again, and this time it took you longer to realise who it belonged to. Then it struck you. Gandalf.

You had always known and trusted Gandalf, ever since you were little, but you knew that you shouldn't start listening in on his conversations. So you started to walk away, trying to act as though you had heard nothing.

"Miss Bracegirdle?" You turned around as you heard Gandalf speak your name.
"Yes Gandalf?" You asked.
"Come inside. I have some urgent business and I wish you to hear it."
And so with that you followed him inside, not really knowing what you were getting yourself into.
End of flashback.

You thought about this as you lay in bed, watching the ceiling and listening to the birds outside. It was early morning in Rivendell and you had been awake for around half an hour. Everything felt so surreal. The soft, cushy mattress beneath you, the fluffiness of the pillow under your head, and the bird song outside. Oh how long you had been travelling without so much as a single chirp.

You see you had been there with Frodo on the journey, you had helped him destroy the ring. You had met new people, made new friends, seen knew places. But with this came the enemies, the hatred, the harsh conditions and gruelling expedition.

And the battle.

You had left Frodo and Sam on the banks of the river, the day they left you all behind, the day that Boromir had died. Therefore you had journeyed with Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas - even following them into the battle of Helms Deep, and the fight before the gates of Mount Doom.

So much had happened since that first night. Since the party of the infamous adventurer Bilbo Baggins. You smiled to yourself as you realised that now you were also an adventurer; something you had always wanted to be.

Knock knock. Someone was knocking on your door.

"Yes?" You called as you sat up slowly. A young elf maiden walked in carrying a pile of clothes.
"These are for you, Miss (Y/N). When you want to get up." She said kindly.
"Thank you. How long have I been asleep?" You asked.
"For about two days Miss. You had taken a nasty blow to the head. Everyone has been so worried about you, I came every morning to see if you were up and wanted fresh clothes."

Slowly it came back to you. During the last battle you had been hit in the side of the head with someone's shield, knocking you into unconsciousness.

"Is Aragorn alright? How are Merry and Pippin and Sam? What about Frodo?" All of these questions came bursting out of you like a giant breath you had been holding in for years.
"Calm down Miss," the elf maiden laughed, "why don't you get dressed and see everyone for yourself?"
"Oh yes. That's probably a good idea." You smiled.
*
You were walking around the House of Elrond, searching for a certain someone. Or at least a certain hobbit.

You had found and said hello to every other member of the fellowship, but the ring bearer was nowhere to be found.
Eventually you stumbled across a quiet, secluded balcony. And standing by the edge, was Frodo. You tried not to smile too widely at the sight of him. But after all, you hadn't seen each other for many months.

"Mr Baggins. It has been a long time since I last saw you!" You said gently, yet with a tint of humour. At the sound of your voice Frodo turned around so quickly he nearly snapped his own neck.

"(Y/N)!" He cried as he ran to you. You started running towards him and it wasn't long before you were trapped in his arms. Butterflies started to swarm inside your stomach; as they always did when Frodo was close to you.

"I was so worried about you! I haven't seen you in so long and they wouldn't let anybody in your room as they said you needed time and space to recover." Frodo rushed out as his arms tightened around your waist.
"I'm fine, Frodo. I was worried about you, the whole time we were gone, I was worried. And I hate to admit it but I feared the worst. I thought..." You couldn't finish your sentence as you realised what you had truly been thinking during the last days of your journey.

"What (Y/N)? What did you think?" Frodo asked as he pulled away to look into your eyes. But you couldn't meet his gaze. It hurt so much.
"I thought you were dead, Frodo. I thought I would never see your face again, never hear you speak or watch you dance with Merry and Pip at the parties. I thought you weren't coming back." You whispered the last part - as if it would break if you said it too loudly.

"I would never leave you, (Y/N)." You looked up at him as he said this. You could feel him moving closer to you, your faces inches apart, but before your lips could touch you moved away, scared it was just your imagination.
"Well at least we're both here now!" You said, sad at the loss of closeness.

"(Y/N)." Frodo said.

"Yes?" You asked, hope evident in your voice.

"Close your eyes." He whispered. And at his command, your eyes fell shut.

"I have wanted to do this for a long time." You feel his breath as he speaks, and then oh so slowly, teasingly slowly, his soft lips fell upon yours.

At this contact butterflies erupted in your stomach. So long had you dreamt of this moment, especially in your months apart. His lips moved against yours and one hand went to your waist, the other to the side of your face. You placed one hand at the side of his neck, the other across his shoulder.

Eventually you both pulled away at the sound of applause. You turned around to see what was left of the fellowship and a few elves gathered around the balcony, watching you and Frodo. At this sight you went completely red and had to bury your face in Frodo's shoulder to hide your embarrassment.

"And it's about time too!" You heard Pippin say in the background.
"Years of liking each other and it takes a near death experience to get them to kiss!" Merry shouted. Everyone laughed.

"Your just jealous, Merry!" Frodo said, laughing. "And jealous he should be, because now I can call you mine." He said the last part quietly, so only you could hear it over the sound of the clapping.

"Just kiss me again, Frodo!" You said. And without hesitation his lips were against yours again, his arms around your waist, your arms around his neck.
And without even a second thought, you knew this was one of the best days of your life.
