This is for @ThoraOakenshield

You hadn't always seen eye to eye, you and Thorin. You disagreed on many things, yet neither of you could tear yourself away from the other. It was like you were two magnets. One side never worked and would never stick together, yet the other side matched perfectly and was impossible to break apart. Although on saying this, there were times when you would've liked nothing more than to slap Thorin Oakenshield straight across the face to teach him a thing or to. But what could you say? He was bound to be arrogant and rude to you sometimes; you had elven blood running through your veins! And naturally, being a half dwarf and half elf did not bode well with the King Under the Mountain.

But you would not have wanted it any other way. Things had taken an unexpected turn, and you had ended up falling for the stubborn king. There had been many times when you told yourself to think other wise - you had to hate him, he was rude, selfish and ignorant! Yet no matter how hard you had tried to persuade yourself of this, you had fallen in love with Thorin. And after a while it had become apparent that the king also held certain affections toward you.

Flashback:

Silence. You had just entered the house of the young hobbit, Bilbo Baggins. And now you were stood at the end of the table, facing thirteen dwarves and a wizard. And one of those dwarves was not very happy to see you. Namely, the king. Thorin Oakenshield. They all stared at you intently. The silence was deafening, nobody dared to break it.

"(Y/N). What are you doing here?" Thorin asked coldly.

"Oh I just thought I'd pop by and say hello to my favourite king!" You fired back, your voice dripping with sarcasm. "What do you think I'm doing here Thorin? I came to reclaim the mountain."

There was silence. He took a while to reply. "No." He said simply. At his simple reply the company merely gasped, becoming even more silent if it was possible. You took a moment to calm yourself.

"Excuse me?" You asked.

"I said no, (Y/N). This company is no place for a woman. Especially a woman with elven blood running through her body."

You had to fight the urge not to rip his head from his body right there and then."No place for a woman? Really, Thorin? I thought you knew me better than that. And just because I don't eat everything I see and crave the touch of gold and act like an arrogant, rude little boy, does not mean I am any less dwarf than you!" You were breathing heavily now, the anger evident in your voice. "I am coming on this quest, and you cannot stop me."

Thorin looked disgruntled by your outburst, and had lost some of his calm, authoritative manner. "Yes, (Y/N), I can stop you coming on this quest as I am the one leading it therefore I decide who goes and who does not!"

"And what authority do you have over me Thorin? Huh?" Your voice was louder now.

"I am the king, (Y/N)! I have every authority over you!" He shouted back.

"No Thorin! You're not the king yet! In case you hadn't noticed, you haven't reclaimed the mountain yet! That dragon still sits on your precious gold! And until you sit on that throne, and wear the crown, you are not my king!"

"I am your king (Y/N)! My father was your king once when my people lived in Erebor, therefore I now take his place!"

"He was never my king! He never looked out or cared for me, or my mother! Your so called 'people' laughed and sneered at us! I was the laughing stock of the village! Just because of my father! And I will not bow down to anyone who treats me like muck just because of my blood. So I will never bow down to you, Thorin Oakenshield!"
