It has been few months after y/n received her first letter from her future self. At first, she began to doubt that letter but things went eventually smooth for those few months. Y/n hanged out a lot with Akaashi and Bokuto. They eat together with the rest of the volleyball team during lunch break and y/n was often invited to watch their practices whenever she has no club activities.
Sometimes y/n would help out their managers, Yukie and Kaori, filling up the empty water bottles and managing the team. It was a whole new experience for y/n since she's never thought of being a manager to any clubs. It was tough at first but she got used to it really quick. The coaches and managers were satisfied with her job until one day, they decided to recruit her to be the first year manager for the team. Y/n wasn't really confident with her managing skills but she was encouraged by Akaashi and the rest of the team to accept the offer. Y/n needed some time to think about it and they were awaiting for her reply.
Time skip (On the way home, 6:45pm)
Y/n and Akaashi walked home together. Bokuto wasn't able to join them because he was called out by his homeroom teacher to talk about his Math grades. Bokuto was known for his below average points in Math instead of being the ace of the volleyball team.
The whole walk was a comfortable silence. Y/n looked up to the sky , letting out a content sigh. Akaashi broke the silence between them.
" Beautiful sky. " he stopped in his track while watching the sky. Y/n stopped walking and turned back to Akaashi. She linked arms with him, dragging him with her to continue walking.
" Come on, Keiji. I'm hungry~ " she chuckled. Akaashi smiled. Both of them got comfortable to each other since a month ago. Akaashi didn't mind being a sweetheart towards y/n whenever they're alone. Of course, he wouldn't show that kind of affection in front of other people since he never declared anything to y/n yet.
Akaashi has been fighting to himself whether to confess to y/n or not. He was afraid of being rejected for confessing too early or so. Logically thinking, it's only been a few months? Who in the world would go straight to confess after only a few months of friendship? So, he decided to keep his feelings until the right time for him to confess.
" Wanna stop by the convenience store? " y/n asked. Akaashi nodded with a small smile on his lips. They continued walking. Akaashi slowly slid his hand down and laced his fingers between y/n's, intertwining them. Y/n felt a gush of blood rushed through the veins of her cheeks. She said nothing but connected her hand with his and gave him a comfortable squeeze.
" Say, y/n. " Akaashi spoke but his eyes were darted straight to a couple who were sharing earbuds to listen to their favourite song together. " Do you have someone in mind? " y/n's eyes too were focused on the couple Akaashi was watching at.
" Huh? " y/n turned her head towards Akaashi on her right with an eyebrow raised. She can't help but letting out a chuckle. " Haha, I thought it was obvious... " she said it casually. Akaashi knew how red he was at that moment but he tried to keep calm as he normally does. " How about you, Keiji? " her turn to tease him. Akaashi covered his mouth his his palm, literally tried to endure the blush. His eyes were averted away from y/n's, not having such strength to look into her e/c orbs. They arrived at the store. Y/n let go of his hand and entered the store first. Akaashi already missed the warmth of her small hand. He stared at his palm, spaced off.
" I thought it was obvious... " he mumbled to himself.
" Huh? Did you say something? " y/n turned back to Akaashi. He was snapped back to reality.
