Bokuto jogged all his way to the park from his house. He left early to do his morning laps before meeting Akaashi. The morning breeze was cool and fresh. He smiled to himself as he recalled his conversation with Akaashi on phone last night. It was somehow quelling to him, knowing that his precious friend finally wanted to fix things up.

He stopped by the sidewalk and leaned on the tree. He pulled out his phone and scrolled through the messages.

He shoved his phone in his pocket with his smile still unfaltered

He shoved his phone in his pocket with his smile still unfaltered. He stretched his arms up and inhaled the fresh air before exhaled with a wider smile and continued his jog. I'm glad he finally comprehended everything. This is gonna be a new start to all of us!  "Hey hey hey!! " he cheered out loud as he pumped his legs to run faster to the park.

Bokuto was slightly panting when he arrived. He looked around. It was still early and nobody was there. He did some muscle stretching on the playground nearby while waiting for Akaashi. Bokuto was doing pull ups at the monkey bar when Akaashi arrived. Akaashi, as usual, wore his sweatpants with white hoodie and his black running shoes for his morning jogs. Bokuto saw Akaashi's puffy red eyes with a slight eye bags.

" Sorry for the wait, Bokuto-san. " Akaashi slightly bowed to Bokuto but Bokuto waved him off.

" Nah, I just arrived too. Did you sleep late last night? You looked like a panda. " he chuckled. He flashed Akaashi his usual bright smile which was infectious and made Akaashi smiled too. Akaashi shook his head. His expressions turned serious.

" No. I can't really sleep last night. I was waiting for today to come because I wanted to be honest and clear the air around us." he started to fiddle his finger as he tried to start off the crucial conversation. Bokuto nodded and pointed towards the gazebo nearby. They both walked towards the gazebo and took their seats oppositely to each other.

" I wanted to apologise to Bokuto-san... After everything I did. " He lowered his gaze as he tried not to cry anymore. His tears were dried up last night after he declared everything to Ikki. But to his trepidation, his dried puffy eyes started to dwell with tears again. He was too fragile to endure everything. Bokuto nodded quietly as he doesn't want to interrupt Akaashi to have his moment to speak.

" I can't forgive myself after I pushed you off the side walk. I can't forget your eyes. You were hoping for me to save you before you were hit by the lorry. I-- " his throat tightened as he tried to speak. His chin trembled. He started chewing on his lower lip as his eyes welled up in tears. Bokuto's hands reached out and grabbed Akaashi's quavering hands. He caressed his thumbs on the hands that are larger than his.

" Hey. You cried a lot last night. You'll hurt your eyes if you keep crying, 'Kaashi. " Bokuto said in a soothe and tranquil voice which touched deep inside Akaashi's heart. His delicate heart can't hold any more of pain. He finally sobbed. Bokuto took a seat besides Akaashi and wrapped his arm around his frail friend. He rubbed the raven haired male's arm to ease him.

" I betrayed your trust in me, Bokuto-san. I deceived you. I was so foolish for obeying my rage. I-- I envy your relationship with y/n. I wanted her to be mine and only mine." Bokuto nodded. He doesn't feel mad or kept any revenge towards Akaashi. He knew Akaashi has made a mistake.

"Everyone does mistakes. Even myself. I won't judge you hastily just because of what you did in the past. " Bokuto pulled away a little to take a look on his friend's feature. Akaashi was a sobbing mess. He cried a lot that made his puffy eyes more visible than before.

" I was ashamed with myself." Akaashi chuckled sadly. " I never thought you would hear everything I said when you were in coma." he wiped his tears and inhaled deeply. His breath was shaky. He fiddled his fingers again. " Did you-- really have an amnesia after you woke up? " he asked Bokuto nonchalantly.

Bokuto gave him a weak smile and shook his head. " No. I never had any amnesia. I just wanted to know the true reason why were you doing this. So I thought I would find the answers by playing amnesic. " Akaashi hanged his head low. He was mortified by his wrong doings. " You love y/n a lot right, 'Kaashi? " Akaashi nodded weakly. " Then, why didn't you tell her the truth? "

Akaashi shook his head and sighed. " I did. But she rejected me. " Bokuto was not convinced by Akaashi's words.

" What makes you think she rejected you, 'Kaashi? No way! She loves you a lot! She even told me that. " Bokuto's words made Akaashi's eyes widened in disbelief. " She told me she regretted for pushing you off after you confessed. But she wasn't meant to reject you at the first place. She was flustered at that moment. " Akaashi was dumbfounded. He realised that he has made a quick assumption towards y/n's actions.

" But--"

" No buts, 'Kaashi. Y/n cares for you a lot! She never wanted to leave your side when you were admitted to the hospital after you attempted on a suicide. She was there the whole time by your side. It's just-- we were the ones who asked her to go home and rest. We didn't know that you would woke up the moment she had already left. " Bokuto explained to Akaashi warmly.

" I didn't-- " Akaashi bite his lower lip.

" Dr. Shiroi.... told us everything about you. " Akaashi looked into Bokuto's eyes in despair. No, not everything.. Please don't say 'everything'! His heart cried out. Bokuto registered the frown on Akaashi's eyebrows and shook his head. " Let's not talk about this if you're feeling uncomfortable."

" You knew everything. What's the point of keeping it anymore? " Akaashi's voice trembled. Dr. Shiroi has told Bokuto and y/n. The two person that he really doesn't want them to know about his dark past. " Do you hate me now? "

" No, Akaashi, no! " Bokuto pulled him into a tight hug. He wanted Akaashi to feel secured. " We would never hate you. We are here to help you. We would never leave you, I promise. " he consoled Akaashi. His friend cried too much for regretting his actions and Bokuto doesn't want him to grief even more.

" I'm the worst friend ever. " Akaashi pulled away from Bokuto and wiped his tears again. He felt drowsy. He can't keep up with the pain anymore. Admitting the truth hurts more than lying. Yet, Akaashi has chosen to be honest.

" No, you're not. You have us, Akaashi. You can talk to us if anything bothers you. Never keep it by yourself again anymore, you hear me?! " Bokuto cheered Akaashi up. Akaashi chuckled and wiped his remaining tears before nodding to Bokuto.

" I'm grateful to have a friend like you, Bokuto-san. " he smiled genuinely. Bokuto flashed him his brightest smile.

" You have me, Akaashi. I'll always be here for you. "

Thank you, Bokuto-san. I've found the light that shines through the darkness I've been in for so long. That light is you.
