April's POV:

I tell Y/n to sit on the couch while I bring her some water. If I'm being completely honest she's very hot and she's so sweet. I over heard when she was talking to Barren and I am already starting to like Y/n, probably more than I should

"Here you go." I say setting a glass of water down in front of her on the coffee table

"Thank you." she says, I take a seat next to her leaving space between us. She takes a sip of the water, sets it down, then turns to face me

"So, how's the first day been?" she asks, I chuckle

"It's been good. All I've been doing is running around telling the movers what boxes go where, and talking to your lovely family." I say smiling, she shakes her head with a smile. She has one dimple on the right side of her cheek which I find quite cute

"Did they talk your ear off?" she asks, I laugh lightly

"No they didn't. They just kept talking to me about you." I say taking another drink from my glass of water. She hums

"Of course they did. Did you need any help with the unboxing?" she asks, I smile

"They are just trying 'to help you out', and no I don't, I'm not really worried about unboxing on the first day." I say, but I do need a little help "But if you would like to come over tomorrow and help that would be great." I add

"Please, they have been doing that ever since I ended my last relationship. I can definitely help you out though." she says smiling

"Thank you, it's will take a lot less time with someone other than Barren and I." I say, she nods, taking another sip of water

"Of course, anything for a beautiful women like yourself." Y/n cheekily smiles, I roll my eyes and smile "So, is the little guy your son or..." she says dragging the or

"Barren, yes he is my sweet little boy." I smile reminiscing on our good and bad times together

"You've been through a lot, haven't you?" Y/n asks, how in the hell? I furrow my eyebrows in confusion

"How did you know?" I ask

"I've been on this earth for twenty-one years. I can tell when someone's been through some shit." she says making me laugh a little, she smiles "Cute laugh." she says making me blush. Okay, wait hold up. How did she make me blush and we just met?

"And I've been on this earth for twenty-nine years and still can't figure my life out." I say, her eyes widen

"YOUR TWENTY-NINE?!" she asks completely shocked

"Yeah? Is that's a good or bad thing?" I ask giggling

"It's great. You still look like you're in high school." she says making me smile like an idiot. I don't think I've smiled or laughed this much in a long time

"Anyways, are you new in town? Do I need to show you around?" she asked being genuine

"Oh no no, I know my way around." I say waving her off, she nods

"Okay, good 'cause I wasn't going to show you around anyway." she says hiding her side smile by drinking her water

"Oh shut up." I say pushing her lightly. Then someone comes bursting through the door

"Oh hey Y/n, hey mom!" Barren says walking into the kitchen

"Hey Bear, what are you doing?" I ask watching him open the fridge

"Do we have anymore bottled water from the road trip?" he asks closing the fridge and walking into the living room with us

"No, but I can get you a cup of water." I say standing up and walking into the kitchen. I see Y/n sit back on the couch, watching me, I smile

"Here you go." I say handing him the glass. He chugs it down and like every kid he's breathing loud and you can hear some slurps

"Thanks mom!" he says quickly setting down the empty cup and running back out side closing the door on the way

"Your welcome." I say dragging the 'r' then putting the cup in the sink

"I can tell he really loves you." Y/n says as I walk back over to the couch taking a seat

"Yeah, probably more than anyone ever will." I slightly mumble looking down, not really wanting her to hear but also wanting her to hear

"I'm sure someone will love you as much as Barren does." she says putting her hand on my knee in a comforting way. I look up and smile nodding "So..." she says a little loudly then taking her hand off my knee "What made you move over here?" she asks, and there is it. The question I've been trying so hard to avoid.
