Catching Up

April's POV:

It's been a day since Y/n and I's date, which was amazing. And I may have been too turned on by her wearing grey sweats that we had morning sex before picking up Barren. I hear a knock on the door

"Come in!" I yell knowing it's Y/n because she always knocks three times in a certain way

"Hey, could I take Barren to go Mini Golfing and have a little bonding time?" Y/n asks, while we hold each other in our arms

"Yeah sure, that's fine with me. Barren!" I call him, which is a little muffled because I'm snuggled up against Y/n

"Yeah mom?" Barren questions, I let go of Y/n and face Barren

"Hey, little man, want to go Mini Golfing? Just the two of us." Y/n says and a smile appears on his face and he nods rapidly

"Yes! Let me get my shoes." he runs back up to his room. I face back towards Y/n and she places her hands on my waist pulling me closer. I wrap mine around her neck and she pecks my lips. Then we hold each other again, and start swaying. No words. No music. No sound. Just silence

"We should do this more often." Y/n says breaking that silence

"I agree, I like your arms holding me." I admit, she smiles

"And I like holding you." she says then pecks my lips. I close my eyes and smile taking in the moment even if it's short

"Ready!" Barren yells in excitement

"Okay, let's go." Y/n says letting go of me before giving me one last kiss. They walk out the door and I close it after they leave the driveway, waving bye. I sit down in the couch, what am I supposed to do. I haven't been at home alone in a long ass time, it feels weird. I decide to turn the TV on and put on Outer Banks, yes I'm old but I still know what's the hype nowadays. After a couple episodes there is another knock on the door. I walk up to it and look through the peep hole seeing my best friend, Jasmine, the one I stayed with. I quickly open the door and we scream in excitement

"What are you doing here?" I question because it is a lengthy drive from her house to mine

"I wanted to check out the new home and see how you and Barren are doing." she says, I smile and welcome her in

"We are great, there is a LOT I need to catch you up on." I say getting her and I some water then sitting down at the kitchen table

"Well, I've got no where to be so start from the beginning." she shrugs, I sigh with a smile thinking back on the past month "Okay, you're smiling so it's obviously great. Now hurry up and tell me!" she says getting inpatient

"Okay, okay. So, it all started the first day we moved in..." I tell her from that point to now and there were some 'ooo's and 'awh's from her
"So, yeah that's where we stand today." I finish it off

"Wow, okay. One, you need to marry this girl. Two, was she good, ya know, in bed. And three, you just look like you're in love." Jasmine says making me smile

"She was great, amazing even. But how do you know I'm in love, when I don't even know?" I question, she smiles and tilts her head

"Girl, I've been your best friend for how long? I think I can tell when you are in love and aren't in love." she says, I nod. Maybe I am in love. If Barren AND my best friend can see it, then it's got to be true. Right?
