he knows what he did wrong. that fact alone makes the feeling in his chest heavier. he tried to get rid of it, with every method he could possibly think of. but at the end of the day, he's convinced that he, alone, is in the wrong."looks like you haven't slept." gakushuu leans back on his seat, crossing his arms across his chest. "if you knew you couldn't take it, then you shouldn't have attended the wedding."
"have you seen how beautiful [ name ] was yesterday?" karma raises a brow, pressing his hand on his head in hopes that it will somewhat ease the ache it's giving him. "how could i not attend?"
"you...really..." gakushuu heavily sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "it's been years, akabane. just...let go of it already."
karma glances outside the glass window of the café he and gakushuu are in. he raises an obvious brow. "i would have done it already if it was that easy." he says. "actually, i would do anything to finally free myself from this guilt. i thought seeing her finally happy with yuma was a way to do it," he shifts his gaze to gakushuu. "apparently, not."
"maybe talking to her would give you ease?" gakushuu raises a brow, lifting his cup of coffee from the table to take a quick sip. "although, i'm only making a suggestion. you should do the things you think are most likely to succeed."
karma purses his lips into a thin line, briefly shrugging afterwards. he stands up from his seat, grabbing his coat hanging behind it, turning to gakushuu once more. "thanks for the coffee and time, shuu. i'll treat you somewhere better next time."
"somewhere better?" gakushuu mutters in an annoyed tone as he watches karma make his way out of the place, swiftly waving a hand at the cashier over the counter. "...that guy hasn't change at all."
dragging his feet over the tiled floor of the mall with his coat hanging over his forearm, karma lifts his gaze up upon hearing a familiar giggle. a giggle that he hasn't heard for years. hearing it again somewhat felt quite nostalgic.
more. i want to hear more.
he misses it. he wants to hear more of it. if it's possible, may he giggle with that voice too? he didn't even notice but as he looks for the source of the voice, he has a very excited grin on his face. he's close, yet far to where it is. he kept shifting his gaze along with his head, from both his sides to behind him.
where is it? where? where?
his walk that started slowly, turned into a jog, hearing more of that voice then made him start running.
he's desperate.
something lit up inside of him. a colorful view of positive emotions that who knows how long he can keep within, if he lets it last longer than intended-it'll explode; the thing is, he wouldn't really mind.
"why does it look like that?" the familiar voice asks, laughter following up at the question.
he can feel it. the beat of his heart speeding up. he's about to go crazy if he doesn't get a hold of the voice's owner.
when he finally got the chance to get close, he suddenly stopped his tracks. he can hear another voice laugh. it's familiar, too. and as he listens to both voices blend, he can't help but think that-they go well together.
outside the book store, there, karma lays eyes on you and isogai growing entertained at the magazines that are displayed behind the glass window of the store.
what a coincidence.
at the sight of you, memories together with him flashes his head as quick as second passes. he used to laugh with you like that, used to make fun of petty things with you, just. like. that.
