Blake's POV
I groaned as I felt someone shaking me. I peeked my eyes open and found Erin sitting on the edge of the bed beside me. I noticed that she's dressed. "What?" I grunted and turned my back on her. Last night, I ran after her upstairs thinking that we would be doing something fun. But guess what? She just teased me and went to sleep. I had to take a shower just to cool my heated body off.
She shook me again, with much force this time. "Get up." She ordered while tugging at my hand. "We're going to my work today."
I glanced at her and found her pouting her lips and pulling the puppy dog-eyed face. Who can resist that? I got up and kissed her forehead. "Okay, okay."
She clapped her hands in excitement and went to the door, "I'll make breakfast!!" She squealed and headed downstairs.
I went to the bathroom and took a shower. After I got dressed, I continued downstairs and into the kitchen. We we're eating breakfast when the doorbell rang.
"Who's that?" Erin asked while munching on her bacon.
I shrugged and stood up. "I'll get it." I told her and went to open the door. She also stood up and followed after me. I raised my brows at her and she just shrugged.
Nobody was there when I opened the door, but a small box lays on the doorstep. I picked it up and went back inside. "What's that?" Erin asked after we sat back again on the kitchen.
"I don't know. I'm not expecting anything." I answered truthfully. I wasn't really expecting anything. The pack never informed me anything about them sending me something, and if they did, they would have just handed it to me personally.
I opened the box using the bread knife and looked inside. A single white rose lays in it, along with a small note. I picked it up and read it.
I miss you honey, I really do. Forgive me.
- Mom
I crumpled the note and threw the package on the garbage bin. How could she have the guts to send me a note and ask for my forgiveness? After all that she had done! Hell will freeze first before I forgive her. I felt Erin's hands on my shoulder. "Calm down." She said and pointed on my hands. I looked down at it and didn't notice that I dented the table already with how tight I had gripped at it. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. After a few moments of calming myself down, I opened my eyes again and saw Erin reading the crumpled note.
"So, it's from your mom?" She asked after reading it. "What happened? Why are you so mad?"
I stood up and put the dishes on the sink. "It's nothing." I told her. "If you're done eating, we'd better get going. I'll wait for you outside." I headed for the door and got out of the house leaving my confused mate inside. I know she'll ask me about my Mom, but I don't think I'm ready to tell her. It's not that I don't trust her because I do. I'm just not ready to talk about it yet.
Erin's POV
I wanted to run after Blake after he walked out but I stopped myself. I would have wanted to ask him questions about the incident, but I know that now is not the time. It's obvious that he don't want to talk about it and I understand that. I don't even want to push his limits seeing how mad he got awhile ago when he read the note. I glanced at the dented table and shook my head. We would have to buy a new one. I put my plates on the sink and followed Blake outside.
He was facing the woods with his hands on his pockets. I made my way over to him and hugged his back. I knew I had to comfort him in a way. He turned around and faced me. He cupped my cheeks and kissed my lips lightly. "Thank you.." He muttered. "For not asking, and for understanding."
I nodded my head and put my hand over his. "It's okay." I smiled at him and he smiled back. "Let's go." He let go of my face and held my hand. We walked towards his car and drove away.
Blake's POV
We parked outside a huge warehouse. A three-storey building painted heavily in black. Erin got off the car and I followed suit. She punched in a code and one of the metal doors opened. "Come on in." She went inside and I trailed after her.
If the outside of the building was black and dull, the inside was the complete opposite. The walls and railings of the stairs were painted white. Several customized cars lined up in the center of the warehouse, each one contrasting the other's color and design. I remembered Erin's car. Is this her business that Derek is talking about?
Erin and I ascended the stairs and we passed some men who saluted as we made our way up. I smelled their scents and noticed that they're all humans. Erin opened a door and motioned for me to come in while she followed after me. The room was painted in a neon pink color and all the furnitures are black, except for the glass desk that stood at the center.
"So, this is where you work?" I asked her as she sat behind the desk and I did the same on the couch at the side of the room.
Her eyes was gleaming with pride when she answered. "Yup.." she said popping the P. "We customize cars. This is where I spend all of my time before."
I nodded. "You did your car?" I asked remembering her car that is stuck in our garage at home.
"Yeah, that's my first work. When people started noticing my car and adored it, I decided to do it as a business and here I am." She chuckled and opened her arms wide.
I smiled at her and nodded. Later that day, she introduced me to her workers and gave me a tour around the shop. We we're walking back to her office when one of her workers stopped her. "Miss Rowlands, there's a new work outside." He muttered and handed Erin a sheet of paper.
She took it and nodded her head. "Okay, thanks Ric." We made our way in front of the warehouse. A tall guy with long auburn hair sat in the hood of his black mustang. When he saw Erin, he stood up straight immediately and walked towards her.
"What can I do for your car, sir?" Erin asked politely. The guy just stood there gawking and checking my mate out.
One wrong move and he'll be straight to the hospital. I told Erin through the mind link. I sniffed the air lightly and noticed that the boy was human. Such an easy thing to take out.
She smiled and answered back. Chill there, Mr. Macho man.
"I want my car to be completely made over." The guy said and walked closer to Erin and she stepped back. The boy, oblivious to my existence, grabbed her hand and muttered "Why are you moving away darling?"
"Wrong move, idiot!" I snarled and pulled him off of my mate. He was shocked but recovered fast and attempted to swing a fist at me. I caught it and smiled at him. "Oh, why would you that, darling!" I smirked at him and twisted his arm.
He cried in pain. "I'm sorry man. I didn't know she was taken." He muttered.
"Well, now you know." I answered him calmly. "And this.." I said while twisting his arm a little more. "will be a reminder." I let go of his arm and watched as he stumbled his way back to his car and drove off.
Erin was just watching the whole scenario in amusement. I stalked closer to her and buried my face in her neck and inhaled her scent. "Mine!" I whispered in her ear.
She chuckled and stepped back a little, "I am." She uttered and kissed my lips lightly.
I pressed our foreheads together and looked in her eyes. "Prove it.." I kissed the tip of her nose. "tonight." I claimed her lips and she kissed me back. I pulled away and she grinned at me.
"We'll see." She said while biting her lips and trailing her finger at my chest. "If Mr. Macho Man can persuade me just a little more." She grinned and walked back inside the warehouse.
I shook my head and smiled to myself. I noticed how she can always make me chase after her. My mate really is something.
