Blake's POV

"Are you all set?" I asked Erin as she descended down the stairs. Today, we were scheduled to meet with the other Alphas. From there, we will be flying to Hawaii for our vacation.

Erin walked closer to me and kissed my lips. "Yeah. Can we just wait a little? Lauren said she'll drop by." She muttered and we headed to the kitchen.

"It's okay, we still have a few hours before we leave." I told her and we started eating breakfast. It was still past eight in the morning and we were scheduled to leave at noon. Two members of the pack, as well as John, will be accompanying us. Kent, being my beta, will be left here to look after the pack while I'm gone.

After eating breakfast, Lauren arrived and I left her and Erin to themselves. There was something different about her though but I just can't put my hands on it. It was just actually my second time meeting her. I know she was always in touch with Erin but I rarely see her around.

"Why did you color your hair blonde?" I heard Erin ask Lauren as I passed by the living room. That's it, that is what's different about her now. Lauren was a brunette before just like Erin, but now she dyed her hair blonde. I shrugged and continued my way outside the house.

Since it was still early, John and the others hasn't arrived yet so I decided to take a run to satisfy my wolf. I glanced back at the house for a moment before taking off my shirt. I'll just go for a run. I told Erin through the mind link then I ran to the forest and changed halfway to let my wolf take over.

Erin's POV

Lauren immediately left after an hour of catching up saying that she'll be meeting Kent somewhere. Lauren and Kent both haven't met their mates yet so they were having fun enjoying each other while they were still "mate-free". I was really against it but Lauren can be hard-headed sometimes so I just let her be. I just hope that when one of them meets their mate, there wouldn't be any problem.

I was about to close the door when I noticed a woman standing from behind the trees. I got outside and walked closer to her. "Excuse me? Do you need anything?" I asked, calculating if she meant harm. I sniffed the air and noticed that she's also a wolf.

She went out of the comfort of the trees and looked around. "Is Blake around?" She asked and I noticed the hint of alarm and sadness in her voice.

I furrowed my eyebrows at her question. "I'm sorry he's not here. Do I know you?" I asked her again in confusion. Why is she asking for Blake? I don't even think I've met her before.

She walked a bit closer to me and held my hand. "My name is Miranda. I'm Blake's mom." She muttered and offered a small smile.

Oh. So this is Blake's mom? I never thought I'd ever meet her after she... wait! "Oh my God. You shouldn't be here. If Blake sees you here I don't..." I said but she cut me off.

"I just need you to listen to me. I need your help Erin." She muttered and I heard her voice broke. "Please." She added while a tear escape her eye.

I know Blake hates his mom after what she did but in this moment, I can't find it in me to hate her too. I just feel that something isn't right with what happened with their family before and I planned to figure that out. "Okay. Let's go inside." I told her and we made our way inside. I may have made a wrong decision by listening to her now, but I guess I'll just have to deal with that later.
