"Cam?"

I was in complete shock. What was she doing here?

"Emilie?" Her eyebrows, raised. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm interested in the loft. What are you doing here?" She goes to answer but Lauren interrupts.

"Ok, wait, hold up, hold up, hold up, this is Cam? As in Cameron? The first girl you dated who also cheated on you? Same Cameron?" Lauren asks.

"Yeah," I say.

"Woah, oh, look at that, Bry is calling me," Lauren lies and walks away to one of the patios.

"What're you doing here?" I ask.

"Dad wanted me to see if he left his briefcase here, he owns the loft," She explained.

i completely forgot that her dad is like one of the greatest guitarists in the industry. He taught me a trick for some barre chords when Cam and I still dated.

I move out the way and she walks in, closing the door behind her.

She goes into the secret study room and comes back out empty handed. She calls Robert, her dad, and tells him that his briefcase isn't here.

She goes into the kitchen and opens the fridge and hands me a water bottle.

"So why do you need a loft in the East Village? The big mansion in LA isn't enough for you?" Cam asks, drinking her water.

"Isn't a mansion, it's a two bedroom apartment in santa monica. I live there with my dog, Charlie, and my twin sister, Shay," I explain.

"You have a twin?!" Cam asks.

"Dude do you live under a rock or something? Yes I have a twin sister. We met shortly after my mom passed in July," I explain.

Cam nods.

"How's business?" I asked.

"Did work at the club, but I quit. Too gay for all the men that come. Got a job at my cousins bar in Greenwich," Cam said.

"You got another spot?" I ask, taking a sip from my water.

"Why, got bored of winning Grammy after Grammy?" Cam joked. I didn't laugh. "Oh shit you're serious."

I simply nodded.

"Wait, why?"

"School starts at the end of september and I'm planning on living here if Robert goes through with it. Need a job so I don't go insane. I'll still be making music, but probably under some alias. I'm living life as Avery Stone when school starts. Emilie Stone will simply disappear for a couple of years," I explain to her.

"Woah," she says.

"Yeah," I say.

"Emilie?" I turn around and see Todd walking towards me. "So the owner, Mr. Pierce, said that rent will be $2,000 a month including utilities."

"That much for four years is almost $100,000," I say. Todd nods. "Can you maybe negotiate for $1,800 a month?"

Todd shrugs and sighs. A voice starts speaking from Todd's phone.

"Yes, Mr. Pierce, I'm still here. Uh huh, yeah so she's asking if we can negotiate to $1,800 a month," Todd asks.

"Let me talk to him," Cam says, motioning to Todd's phone. He hands her his phone.

"Dad, it's Cameron. Listen, do you remember Emilie? My first girlfriend? You taught her a few techniques on guitar?" Cam says, making eye contact with me.
