When I wake up, the bed was empty. It was almost completely dark out. I get up a little, wincing as I open my eyes more.

Billies clothes were gone. I look around, no note. I find my phone on the nightstand and there were no new notifications.

I check the time and see that it's now 8:30 at night.

I get up out of bed and put my clothes back on, but putting no effort into buttoning my shirt. I fix my hair and brush my teeth since I hated how it felt.

I come out my room and go downstairs and see Lauren sitting on the large L Shaped couch.

"Hey, did you see Billie leave?" I ask, my voice raspier than usual.

"Yeah she left like 30 minutes after yall we're done fucking like bunnies," Lauren laughed.

I didn't laugh.

fuck.

"I'm so stupid," I say, rubbing my face. "Fuck."

"Wait, what happened?" Lauren asked, getting up from the couch.

"I told her I loved her right before I fell asleep," I say.

"Oh shit," Lauren muttered.

"We haven't done anything together in over a year and a half and I fucking told her I loved her. Fuck me!" I say, slamming my hand down onto the table next to me.

"I mean Finneas told me their flight is at 10, maybe she left because they had to go to the airport," Lauren says, trying to reassure me.

"That means she wouldve left by 7:30 and that's early for Billie; she hates being at airports too early for no reason," I say. "No text, no note, no nothing."

Lauren takes out her phone and dials someone.

"Who are you calling?" I ask.

"Finneas," she tells me. Once he picks up, Lauren starts grilling him with questions.

"Put him on speaker," I whisper to Lauren. She nods and does just that.

"Woah, woah, Lauren slow down. What exactly are you asking?" He says.

"Where are you?" Lauren asks.

"In the car to the airport?" Finneas says.

"How long ago did you leave?" Lauren asks.

"Like maybe 20 minutes ago?" Finneas says.

"Is Billie with you?" I ask. Lauren puts us on mute and looks at me.

"Emilie, why would you do that?!" Lauren raises her voice.

"Shh," I shush her, as Finneas starts to speak.

"Of course she is. Emilie, what's going on?"

I take Lauren phone and hang up. I give her phone back and run into my room, putting socks and shoes on. I grab my wallet and run out to the front door.

"Where are you going?" Lauren asks.

"To get some answers," I say.

I open the door and run out the room, heading for the staircase and going down 52 flights of stairs, not caring how my legs are currently burning.

I run out the hotel and start heading towards the 5th avenue and 53rd street train station. I get my metro card and swipe it, running to catch the E train that just got here.

I run into the crowded train car and see that the airport is 8 stops away which is roughly a 30 minute ride.

I should get there around 15 minutes after Billie, hopefully getting to her before she reaches TSA.
