The colors of the changing traffic lights all started to blur together as my tears continued to challenge my sight. I'd been walking for what felt like forever, patting my back pocket every ten minutes to make sure I still had my necessities; my phone and my wallet.
"Hello? Miss, are you alright?"
I spun on my heel at the sound of a man's voice. It was soft like velvet, alluring, almost. Wiping my face with the back of my palm, I replied back to the shadowy figure. "Yes?"
I couldn't make out his features in the darkness. He purposely stood under the broken streetlight with a cloak that looked two sizes too big. It fell below his ankles and dragged against the sidewalk when he walked.
