'Usually it wouldn't matter but now that you're.. here, it does.'
"Did you get an answer yet?" Aria stumbled through the doorway as I stared into Juliana's eyes with confusion.
"Perfect timing!" Juliana clapped her hands together, flashing a smile my way before taking her place alongside Aria.
"Madeline?" Juliana pushed for a response.
My mouth hung open wide as if I were in shock or about to say something but it was almost like I'd gone hoarse. What did Aria know?
Aria tapped her foot impatiently, making me somewhat annoyed by the familiarity of it. I pursed my lips together, allowing my mouth to retain its moisture and closed my eyes tightly. "I'm sorry, do you two know each other?"
Well, obviously they did, I knew that much. What I wanted to ask is how much they knew about each other.
"Living as a vampire coven, you're destined to find another supernatural along the way. Little Aria here has her little witchy powers and the rest of us," Juliana turned her head towards the wall that contained her family portraits. "Vampires."
"A witch?" I coughed. "I'm sorry, like spells and powers and all that jazz?" my voice has somehow started off strong and now turned into a whisper as my confidence in what I was saying belittled.
The corners of Aria's lips began to rise and I could tell she was holding back a smile. "Yes, all that jazz."
"You know, when there's a newborn vampire around, you can almost feel it." Julie began to walk over towards the living room couches. "But you?"
I straighten up a little bit as cause of sternness in her voice.
"It wasn't a mind reading thing. I mean — you didn't know you could even communicate mentally until Oliver showed up to feed you per usual but still, you managed to sit in a cafe with tons of people drinking nothing but water without killing them. You ooze power wherever you go, you're like a recharging station for vampires! So again," She fluttered her eyes as if she were going to attempt to seduce me. "When did he turn you?"
When did he turn me? I asked myself this question now because to be honest, I didn't even know. My mind searched for an answer for a moment and I was sure they could visibly see what I was trying to do, remember.
"How about you look?" I offered.
Her eyebrows raised, "I look in your mind? You're giving me permission?"
