'Although I knew I was immortal, her driving made me heavily consider it.'

When I didn't wake up with blisters across my T-zone, I knew buying new curtains was a success. It left me in a good enough mood to start my day, checking my phone, which had only one notification; from Aria.

'I'll be outside your hotel in about an hour and a half!'

I smiled to myself before shutting off the phone. Although she was barely a friend and more of a failed dinner time, at least I had someone.

Pushing myself off of the mattress, I headed towards my closet which was barely filled with clothes. To be fair, I wasn't actually expecting to leave Washington permanently, but when my sister along with my now ex-girlfriend ran me out of town I had no choice.

I still remember Cameron. That bleach blonde bitch with the honey brown eyes and a small gap between her front two teeth, the gap she used to slide her tongue between when we argued, her hands crossed in front of her chest and a tap coming from her military boots every four seconds. She made me want to pull my hair out whenever she did that, 'what's wrong with it? it's not bothering me.' she'd say when I told her to stop.

And then when I finally dumped her on the side of the street she'd showed up at my older sister's job with her suitcases and a pouty lip.

I grabbed a mesh long sleeve, slipping it over my hair before reaching for the blue tee I'd stolen from a target sophomore year. "Stupid, dumb, blonde." I murmured at the memory.

Although when they came home together I'd half expected that they were sleeping together, though I'd never say it out loud.

I didn't bother putting on pants, not when I was so comfortable with what I was already wearing. Instead I made my way into the bathroom and talked aloud to myself while beginning to do my hair. "You gotta focus, Maddy." I pointed at my reflection. "I'll get to the house and see if there's something automatically recognizable about vampires enough for Julie to notice or something and if not, I'll just wait until Ollie — Oliver shows up."

My phone rang from my bedside table, it was deafening the more I focused on it so I sped
towards it from the other side of the hotel room.

"Bueno?" I automatically answered. "I mean, hello?"

"Madeline? It's Aria, I'm so sorry I'm late but Im downstairs now if you're ready." A familiar voice replied in a nervous tone on the other side of the phone. I hadn't even bothered to check the time when I woke up but now that I did, I saw exactly what she was talking about.

"Ready?" I failed to hide my now anxious voice, "Yeah! Let me just —" My eyes scanned my room for an excuse. "I'll be right down!"

I didn't wait for her response before hanging up the phone. I was barely ready, I was in granny-panties for christ sake!
