Waking Up Without You

When we woke up in a world without you,
A weight so heavy settled on our chests.
It was easy to see how much of an impact you left,
It was easier to see how much you needed this rest.

When we woke up this morning without you,
Despite all our protests, the sun still rose,
How unfair it seems to be here another day,
When it's the only day we never would've chose.

To wake up in this world without you,
Means we all have to admit to our pain,
That no matter what Papa would've wanted,
He would most want us to maintain.

He was a gentle, loving soul and
To have him here would be a blessing,
But I know he was met at the gates by God,
And Harry, whom I know right now, he's caressing.

So we'll make this day without you,
A statement to how you lived your life on Earth,
Because we hear you from the Heavens right now,
Telling us to spend the time here that we're worth.
