Shivaay, Annika and 6-year old Anayka were on the way to a ice cream parlour. Anayka had insisted on eating ice cream after her father came home from office and Shivaay being Shivaay couldn't ignore his daughter's wishes. So now, all three of them were in Shivaay's car to eat ice cream. Finally, they reached and ordered their ice creams. Shivaay couldn't control his smile when he saw his wife and daughter looking absolutely cute while eating. Annika saw that he was lost somewhere and she attempted to gain his attention.
"Shivaay, where are you lost? Why are you looking at us and smiling? Are we looking funny? "
Shivaay was snapped out of his thoughts by Annika voice.
"It's nothing Annika. It's just that both of you are looking so cute while eating ice cream."
"Acha Dad, you aren't eating your ice cream. If you don't want give it to me. I will finish it. And I would love it. Plus sitting on the car bonnet and eating ice cream is just heavenly. "
Annika laughed seeing her daughter tease her father while Shivaay looked in their direction glaring.
"Nika, you aren't getting any more ice cream, okay. Now eat fast and get down from the bonnet when you finish."
"Yeah yeah Dad. As you say. ", Annika and Anayka chorused making Shivaay give them an angry look.
Soon enough, they finished their ice creams and were going to sit in the car when it started to rain. And even though Anayka was very much like Shivaay, she had taken after Annika in many aspects. She too, like her mother loved the rain. So, with Annika, she couldn't resist getting drenched. Only when the mother daughter duo saw Shivaay look at them angrily they both rushed to the car and sat inside without a word. All throughout the ride, they were just controlling their chuckles.
When they reached home, Shivaay picked up Anayka in his arms and made his way to his room and Annika followed suit. When they reached, he put Anayka down and brought out a towel and started to wipe her hair while Annika went in the washroom to change. When she came out she saw Shivaay reprimanding Anayka, "What do I do of you Nika? First you had ice cream, then also got drenched in the rain. Now if you fall ill, I will not indulge you. Now go and get changed. And come and sleep fast.". Then he looked at Annika and asked her to help Anayka change. Annika didn't argue with Shivaay because she knew how protective he is of Anayka. And this time it was their fault. Knowing Shivaay, they both shouldn't have gotten drenched in the rain. She quietly took Anayka and got her changed. When she came back to the room, she saw that Shivaay had changed into his night clothes and was sitting on the bed reading something on his phone. He looked up and saw Annika and his daughter and asked Annika through his eyes to come and sleep. Anayka was silent and she quietly went and laid down in the middle of both her parents. She turned towards Annika and ignored Shivaay. Annika took her in her embrace and lulled her to sleep. Annika smiled looking at Shivaay and he too reciprocated. This is what Anayka always did whenever Shivaay scolded her. He switched off the light and all three went to sleep.

When Shivaay awoke the next day, he found Anayka sleeping on his chest exactly like Annika did. He smiled to himself and slowly detached Anayka from him and went to the washroom to get ready. When he came out, he saw that both his wife and daughter were still sleeping. He left a note for Annika saying that he is going to the office and will give a call after a while. And he left for work.
Shivaay was discussing something about an important meeting with Mishra in his cabin when his phone rang. The screen showed Annika. He cut the call and continued with his meeting. But, again his phone rang. It was again Annika. He cut it again but when it rang again, he asked Mishra to excuse him for some time and picked up the call. Before he could even say hello, Annika's tensed voice reached his ears, "Shivaay, come home fast, Anayka needs you. Actually... "
