The Indicted Traitor

Harper's POV

I let out a heavy breath before inhaling the cold breeze of the night. I was quiet the whole time. I was sorrounded with my thoughts that I lost the appetite to eat luckily Wonter annoyed me.

It was almost midnight and we're currently waiting for our carriages to arrive and escort us to the port where the mage and it's ship was waiting for us.

"Harper?" I was staring outside the window when Eunna called for me. She was sitting beside me while the carriage was moving through the forest.

"Did you ever think of suspecting me?" My mouth parted. She wasn't looking at me. Her eyes were fixed outside watching as the trees moved past us.

"No, I-I didn't," I instantly replied.

"Did you really believed what that mage really said?" She faced me. It was my turn to moved my eyes away from her. I looked in front of me where Jerra was sitting quietly listening to us. Her lips were pursed to a grim line while she stares at us.

"Hindi ko alam," I merely said.

"That mage doesn't look like he's joking," Jerra suddenly spoke and I agreed with her.

"But why would there'll be a traitor among us? We've already come far, we've already fought for this journey," Confusion can be heard in Eunnas voice.

"It's true that one cannot trust a person even if they are their close friends nor their family," sabi ni Jerra.

"But..." Eunna paused for a second. Dahang dahan kumunot ang kanyang nou.

"What if the academies barrier wasn't really supposed to weakened and break?" Nag angat si Eunna ng tingin saamin dalawa.

"The barrier has been standing for centuries, it's much more older than us and it was written in its history that the barrier didn't broke or weakened after the Queen created it..."

"Remember what Alex told us? He accused Zelda through his theories saying that she might've let the demon get inside the Academy. What if someone from the inside really made the barrier weakened like it was on purpose. Alex might be somehow right but he can be also wrong."

"You might be right Eunna. Now that we're all suspecting each other, it'll be hard to find the traitor," I said.

"It is just so impossible to have one in the group!" Jerra unbelievably said.

"What if it was Oliver?" Napatingin kami ni Jerra kay Eunna.

"You know you can't just accuse someone without any proof," aniya Jerra.

"No, I'm just saying 'What if' bigla nalang kasi siyang dumating sa litrato."

"That might be true tho, but its still not a concrete statement! Wala tayong alam!" Napahilamos si Jerra sa kanyang mukha.

"God! didn't believe that the more we get near our destination the things would get harder from us," she added.

"I'm started to get tired. I just wan't things to go back the way before," I heard Eunnas defeated sigh.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have drag you along here," Bumaba ang tingin ko sa paa ko.

"Hey, we're not saying that we're blaming you, if that's what you thought," Eunna slightly tapped me by the elbows.

"Kami naman ang may desisyon na sumama. I can't just help but to hope that things would get back to normal. I know that we're all starting to get tired pero malapit na din naman to matatapos diba?" She smiled at me.
