"Do I have to go?"
Harper's POV
"Sebastian, naka punta ka na ba sa mortals realm?" I asked Sebastian, the castle's steward.
He was carrying a pile of books in his hands when he entered my room. I'll be leaving tomorrow and I want to know at least something about them. I don't want to go there empty-handed. It's like going on a battle without a weapon, but plot twist I'm not going on a battle.
He slowly placed the books on the table and gasped for air before turning his gaze at me. I felt bad for making him carry those books.
Sorry, Sebastian...
"Not yet. But they said that the mortals are similar to us. It is also bad and good. You'll never guess! but I'm sure they're friendly... I think? Hindi naman ata sila nangangagat?" He shrugged his shoulders and laughed.
I chuckled as I slowly shake my head before shifting my gaze into the book I'm currently reading. I have searched some books in the library about the mortals to get some information ngunit isa lamang ang nahanap ko.
"Mortals," basa ko dito. Makapal ang libro at halatang luma na at ngayon lang nilabas. Naka tago ito sa mga bookshelves, mabuti nga at hindi ito nasira.
I open the book and turned a few pages and read some pieces of information. They also have their own God and say here that their God Almighty is the creator of the world, the universe rather.
They have lots of different types of histories. The histories they got are mind-blowing and amusing! They've been living on earth for centuries. Iba iba ang paniniwala nila ngunit isa lamang ang kanilang diyos. Their lives are just like ours too. Like a stage, they've got entrance and exits.
They have poor and rich, they have bad and good. They are somehow similar to us. Sebastian was right with his words, our worlds between the mortals are almost similar. But only almost."Is everything packed already sweety?" I turned my gaze and saw my mother walking toward me with her hands clasped together. She was busy looking at my bags but then turned her eyes on me.
"Uhh... Yeah," I replied and close the book I was reading.
"Where did you get this?" Tanong niya habang nakatitig sa libro. She turned the pages before closing them and looked at me.
"Library," tipid kong sagot ko.
"I never thought you'd read something about the mortals," she chuckled.
"Why not?"
"You said you're not interested," she teased. I smiled at her and shrugged my shoulders.
"Well, I need to know something about them," I said.
I'm not interested in them but since I'm going to their world, at least I should know something a bit about them.
"You have a point but if I were you I'd choose to know them personally for myself instead of reading books. Because in books it tells you stories but you'll never know which is a lie or not."
"Sometimes a book can lie to you. It's like giving your trust to someone that is lying to you," she said.
"Fine," I surrendered.
"Now, why won't I take this with me and you go rest?" She caressed my cheeks before turning her back on me, leaving me alone in my room.
