(Forty-fourth chapter)

"It's mine."

"No, it's mine."

"I am serious Namjoon if you don't give this up I'll be mad at you."

Namjoon scoffed, "like I am scared of that."

Sowon heaved a sigh. The noises in front of her increased and she found herself ultimately clenching her fists tightly, doing her best to ignore the duo arguing but her patience was as thin as ice.

And that ice was about to crack into fragments very soon.

"I said give me that back!"

"No, you give it to me-"

"Will the two of you shut up or do you want me to push both of you over the river?"

Much to her pleasure, the bickering duo grew silent at once and Sowon opened her eyes, fixating a heavy glare on her best friend before passing it to Namjoon.

"It's just a packet of food for the birds, why are you fighting over it? Can't you buy another packet or share it quietly?"

Haneul huffed, "tell your fiancé, he is filthy rich but extremely stingy."

"Hey, why don't you try buying it then? I didn't see you spending any money either."

"That's because you are supposed to buy, not me."

Haneul stuck out her tongue and Namjoon released a small growl of annoyance before he harshly snatched the paper bag filled with bird food from Haneul's hand.

Haneul's eyes widened when she realised that Namjoon was smirking at her with the paper bag in his hands. She glared at him, stomping her foot and inched closer to him.

"Give that back."

"In your dreams."

This time, Namjoon stuck out his tongue and Sowon rolled her eyes. The duo was no longer paying attention to her but we're solely focused on the bag of food to see who could feed the birds better.

She wanted to cry out in exasperation because they were incredibly easy to bicker and get in trouble, especially giving her migraines. Sowon wished her parents would come back soon from the washroom and control her friends.

"Namjoon."

Haneul scowled and grabbed the paper bag. But Namjoon was not one to let go of his stubbornness and he kept his strong grip on the bag.

"Let go." Haneul threatened.

"No, you let go."

Sowon sighed again. At this rate, she was hundred per cent sure she would grow old and weary if she had to keep looking after them before the age of thirty.

She stepped up, pushing at both their chests to make a distance. Haneul and Namjoon kept glowering at one another with the poor paper bag, stuck in the middle as the two hands tugged on it.

"Guys why don't you-"

Before Sowon could finish her sentence, with the pulling force exerted from both sides, the paper bag tore into half with an annoying whizz and the contents flew out everywhere in the air.
