"Yes, Zylphia?" Charity timidly steps onto the landing.
"Cinder," I use the nickname, despite the wince I recieved in turn. "We both know my daughters are beautiful women." Charity nods. "But at the dance there will be the most beautiful women in the land, and they can't compete with that. In my prime, I may have been able to. You, on the other hand, are very pret-" I am almost able to hurl thecompliment at her, almost. "You may be able to."
Her eyes widen in shock. "You may go to the ball," I smile deviously, "Under one condition."
She bows her head. "Yes, Zylphia,"
"If, by some miracle, the prince chooses you, I will 'help' you make the important decisions."
She mulls it over, "Fine."
"You will have to make your dress, in addition to mine and your sisters', and you will also have your chores."
She looks crestfallen and hopeless. "Yes, Zylpia, of course."
