Meredith Elizabeth Harrington- Grey is the fourth child of Elis Harrington- Grey and Thatcher Grey. Ellis Grey is a world-class general surgeon, Chief of Surgery in Seattle Grace, and won a Harper Avery Award. Thatcher Grey is a college professor. She graduated top of her class at Harvard and was a successful chief of general. Meredith has four siblings:
Margaret Cleofe Harrington- Grey Jones (Cardio, Massachusetts General Hospital) married to Paul Jones (engineer) and with two kids.
Michael Elliot Harrington- Grey (Ortho, New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell), married to Alissa Adams Harrington- Grey (pediatrician) and with three kids.
Mellissa Adriene Harrington- Grey Weiss (Neonatal, MedStar Washington Hospital Center), married to Liam Weiss (Lead Game Developer) and with four kids.
Maddison Blayke Harrington- Grey (Neuro, Mount Sinai Hospital), has a boyfriend named Simon Morgan (architect).
They grew up filled with love and close to each other. Since their mother is a famous surgeon, they spent most of their childhood in a hospital watching surgery in the gallery or at home with their nannies. They all graduated from Harvard and graduate on top of their class, so they may be all the best in their fields.
Derek Cristopher Shepherd is the middle child in the family. He is one of the world's best neurosurgeons and has a great reputation in his field. He has four sisters named:
Kathleen Shepherd- Martin (Psychiatrist, New York- Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell), married to Samuel Martin (Marketing Manager) with three kids.
Nancy Shepherd- Cooper (OB, Mount Sinai Beth Israel), married to Peter Cooper (primary care physician) with four kids.
Elizabeth (Liz) Shepherd- Anderson (General, New York Presbyterian Hospital), married to Benjamin Anderson (oncology) and with three kids.
Amelia Shepherd (Neuro, Mount Sinai Hospital), single
His mother Carolyn Shepherd is a navy nurse, and his dad Christopher owned a small grocery store. Derek divorced Addison Forbes Montgomery and they have a daughter named Crystal.
PS. Derek's dad died a long time ago and they lived in New York. Lexie Grey is Meredith's cousin in this story and Mark is her boyfriend.
