Meredith woke up to a familiar smell coming from the kitchen. Elis prepared some breakfast before going to work. Meredith is 29 and still living with her parents. She is the only one who is single, and all her siblings are in New York, Boston, and Washington D.C. While she's going downstairs Thatcher greeted her.

"Hey, sweetie. Good morning" he smiled at Meredith and kiss her head.

"Morning dad"

"Meredith what time do you need to go to the hospital?" said Elis while giving her a coffee.

"Mhmm not until 9 in the morning mom. Why?" said Meredith.

"Well, Lexie called earlier today and said that she's been calling you yesterday, but you haven't answered your phone."

"Owww I haven't charged my phone last night. I'll give her a call later."

After eating their breakfast Elis and Meredith headed to the hospital while Thatcher goes to university where he teaches biology and literature. Meredith is about to enter her office when her pager goes on. She immediately goes to the pit.

"What do we got?"

"Four-year-old boy, who fell in the tree and lost consciousness immediately. He is stable but has a weak pulse. He has broken bones and internal bleeding in his abdomen."

"Page ortho and neuro," she said to her intern.

After assessing the injury and doing the CT scan they immediately operated on him in O.R. 2. It was a successful operation, they managed to save his life. Meredith asked her intern to close it for her and she got out of the O.R. to talk to the boy's parents.

"Mr. and Mrs. Carson?"

"Yes... Are you the doctor of my son?"

"I am Doctor Grey" Meredith shakes their hands and starts to explain everything to them.

"The operation is a success. I have may intern placed him to PACU and they will let you know when he is allowed for visitors. He is still under observation until he woke up."

"Thank you, Doctor Grey," the Carson's replied and embrace her.

After that Meredith goes to the Attending's lounge and changes her clothes. Her phone rings and she immediately answer it.

"Hey Lex"

"Meredith, thank God you finally answered your phone. I need a favor"

"What is it?" she rolled her eyes and smile

"Do you know Dr. Derek Shepherd?"

"Yes, the neurogod. Why?"

"Well, he needs a consult, and his daughter has a Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)"

"Well, why me? There is a lot of good doctors on the East coast or my mom"

"Well, your mom recommends you, and based on his research you are one of the top general surgeons in the world, and remember you even won a Harper Avery Award."

"Hey, that doesn't count. I just help Hunt's sister to have a normal life by doing the Abdominal Wall Transplant."

"Just pls. think about it overnight because she needs surgery right away."

"Okay. I'm going to talk to my mom"
