Strange Magic

All four of us surround the short and fainted Goblin who is lying on the ground. Our faces were puzzled about what happened before. We were able to gain victory in defeating our enemy, Dashitall, but unexpectedly, the enormous Goblin chief disappeared out of thin air. Now, we found a Goblin in a tattered rope who is in the exact spot where Dashitall used to be.

Out of curiosity, Nean crouched down near the Goblin and poked his arm making sure he is alive. As she did, there wasn't any response.

"It's not moving, could it be dead or something?" Nean said, standing up again with her arms crossed.

"I don't think so, he is still alive," Lexi informed as she is focused on looking at it with an honest look. "He is not moving but I could feel that he is tired."

This is something that I haven't mentioned before apparently, Lexi could sense someone's magic in how strong or weak they are. Not only their power levels and strength but also what emotions they are feeling. But sometimes it doesn't listen to commands.

I knew this from Nean who once told me that Lexi could understand that both my and Hanjin's levels were a lot stronger back when they first visit the Guild of Beer. This ability that Lexi had is called Empathy Sense.

"Maybe that is Dashitall," I spoke naturally.

They all turned to me then turn back at possibly Dashitall. It makes sense since the Goblin isn't moving maybe because of the effects of the paralyzing potion. And the smoke from earlier is putting the puzzle pieces together. Could this be Dashitall's true form? And what about the battle we had earlier? Questions run through my mind as I took out my staff and started chanting a spell. A spell that could erase any magic or effect.

Magic Particles have slowly risen from the Goblin's back and soon after, the Goblin is finally able to move his body. He blinked multiple times until he eventually slowly stood up. He seems to be relieved.

"Oh thank you very much, dear. To be honest, I thought I was going to paralyze forever." The Goblin spoke. As he did, we noticed that he had a white, fizzled beard. It wasn't that long, more likely its length reaches to his neck. "Oh, I forgot that I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Dashitall regardless of some of my kind called me Dash for short."

So, it's no doubt about it. It is him, but it didn't explain why he was an enormous, raging monster a while ago.

"So wait, if you're Dashitall then what's with that Goblin that we just fought with?" Nean raised a question to the old geezer Goblin.

"What in the world are you talking about young girl? And also why is my kind stacked up over there?" Dashitall slowly pointed his green wrinkled finger towards Cobalt's little pile of unconscious Goblin bodies. We completely forgot about that since we were caught in a fight with...Dashitall.

"I think it's best if I should explain to you but for now, I want to see my pack again." Cobalt said who is being a little hasty. I know that he is worried about his pack, that's one of the reasons we are here. But he shouldn't have rushed Dashitall who couldn't remember the fight we had.

"Your pack? Wait, those horns...you are the Mystic from the Horned Wolf pack. I heard you were in charge of defending the Lukewood forest from any trespassers who approach the village." Dashitall explained in a good manner. So that is why Cobalt was there at that time when I first saw him.

Dashitall then continues talking, "I don't understand what is happening at this point however I am assuming that it must have been that spell, I think it's best to let me tell a story. It will explain everything you need to know."

A story?

"You see, Goblins aren't that powerful compared to other monsters out there in Philia, that's why our Goblin ancestors allied to the Horned Wolves to be sheltered by their strength for centuries. Even so, adventurers would always steal from us, torment us, and mostly kill us. Our kind is suffering day by day.
