Chapter 11- Melted Ice Cream

"Morning!" I burst through George's door at exactly eleven a.m.

"What the hell, Adri!" He exclaimed when I started smacking him with a pillow.

"Rise and shine, cupcake! We have stuff to do today," I answer and jump on the bed.

"Where are your parents? Now that I think of it," he asks and I sit cross legged.

"They're both lawyers. They're working on this huge case that they don't want me to know about," I explain and he nods in understanding. "Hungry?"

"Tell me again why we're spying on Nicole?" George questions as he settles next to me on the brick wall across from Nicole's room.

"George, for the last time, we need to make sure that she isn't some phyco who will hurt my Chase," I focus the binoculars' lens as George sighs.

"Does he really still belong to you, Adri?" George's question hits me like a ton of bricks. No pun intended. I swallow and look down at my dangling legs.

"I hope so," I whisper and return my attention back to the blonde that is organizing her clothes. "George! You're supposed to be looking out for me, not looking at the damn bird!" He smiles sheepishly and goes back to his job.

"Adri? Is that you George?" My heart bursts in panic as Nicole's voice rings out from her window.

"No!" George yells out before jumping down and making a run for it. I stare in disbelief at his figure running down the street.

"What are you up to, Adri?" Nicole places her chin on the palm of her hand and smirks. "Spying on me?"

"Whatever you're hiding, I plan to get to the bottom of it Parker!" Her face pales and I run after George.

Take that, Nancy Parker.

"Adri! I brought ice cream!"

"George I swear if you open that door..." I threaten and George plops back down on the couch. Chase has been trying to reach out to me, but I know that right now [A/N: I wish you were here with me... cause right now, everything is new to me. Sorry, please continue] I know that he is team Nicole.

"George you had one job! Look out for me and what did you do?" I question.

"Look at the bird," he mumbles in shame. The sight is too cute in a dorky way and I smile. His eyebrows furrow, but he cracks a smile too.

"Adri!" Chase yells from outside.

"Nicole is waiting for you! Why don't you give her ice cream instead?!" I yell back and I hear him grunt in frustration.

"You're being childish, you know that?!"

"Whatever, Chase! At least I don't betray my best friends in the cruelest way possible and then ignore them for days and then try to fix it with fucking ice cream!" I yell and George rolls his eyes.

"You know what?! Fine!" I hear a thud and then no more yelling. Quietly, I open the door. A tub of ice cream lays on the floor, melted-destroyed and no longer in Chase's arms.

Just like me.
