"I am just thinking of naming myself the Pied Piper." Hartley murmured as Julia was lying next to him silently on the couch, as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Hm? Sorry, I'm not really awake at the moment." Julia admitted and felt guilty, as Hartley looked down at her with a slight smile.
"You should really get some sleep Jules. You have been working almost all around the clock, all twenty four seven, for months to get these lovely gauntlets done for me." Hartley said and Julia shrugged her shoulders a bit at him, as she leaned against his chest and listened to his heartbeat.
"What about you? Are your hearing aids still working?" She asked and he was not at all surprised, to hear a lot of very much legitimate concern for him in her voice.
"Yes, they are. I am perfectly okay Jules, except for maybe being stuck on your couch until I can make up with a couple of 'traditionalized' jackasses that are my parents." Hartley mutters and Julia looked at him, as she slipped her arms around him in a hug.
"You just need to show them that you are still their son, just like before. The only thing that's different, is that you like boys, in the same way that straight guys like girls. Hartley, it is in no way at all your fault, that they don't see it like that."
"When did you get so observant about this stuff?"
"When you came out to me after the anniversary date. But I should at least now, probably tell you that..."
"That what? What is on your mind now, Jules?"
"I knew that you were gay, Hartley. A long time before you told me and came out, I already knew. I just didn't really want to admit it to myself."
Julia's head dropped to look down at the ground, as she knew that she had just dropped a massive, definitely an emotionally charged bomb on him.
"You did not want to lose me sooner, when you knew that you eventually would. Right?"
Julia nodded slightly in shame and Hartley smiled gently at her, and he reached out, squeezing her hand and she looked back up at him with tears in her eyes.
"Wait... you are-- are not just really angry at me? Why not? I was expecting you to slap me."
"I would never hurt you. Besides, if I knew that you were a lesbian and I was the straight friend in this weird ass equation, I would do the same. I trust you all the same, since I was not ready to expose it to the world, thank you, for keeping my secret that I didn't even know that I had at the time."
Julia sighed out loud with relief and Hartley grinned at her. "You awake? I mean, more awake then you were?" It wasn't even really a question, as Julia nodded. "Then, let's cause some real chaos." Hartley suggested and Julia's gauntlets flew over to her, and they'd slide onto her hands perfectly.
She summoned Hartley's with a flick of her wrist and he slid them onto his own hands, flexing his hands quickly to adjust to them.
"Did we end up making suits?" Julia asked and Hartley, he smirked a little bit. "I'm taking that as a yes." She said and followed him into the back.
There were two suits, one of them green and black, the other one was different shades of purple. "Woah... I didn't expect this." Julia mumbled in a state of shock, as Hartley got his out of the glass case and Julia turned around to change into hers. "These are great... now, let's go cause chaos." She said, as she grinned at him.
