Consolation

RICKY WAS THE first person Lucy wanted to talk to so she could tell him about what happened with Ej. She couldn't even understand why she was so upset about everything, but either way, Ricky didn't like how upset she was. He especially hated seeing her cry so much because of Ej freaking Caswell.

Nini called her next, the group chat she had with Kourtney being the call space, while she was still on the phone with Ricky.

"Hey, Rick, I have to go," Lucy sighed, running her hand over her hair. "Nini and Kourt are calling me, and I'm sure Nini needs us right now with everything going on with Ej."

"You need to take care of yourself too, Luce," Ricky reminded her over the phone.

"I know, I know. I'll be fine though, I promise. I'll see you at school tomorrow?" Lucy requested.

"Yeah, and hey. I care about you," Ricky said pointedly.

"I care about you too, Bowen. Have a good night," Lucy smiled weakly at him. He returned the notion and she ended the call to join the group facetime with Nini and Kourtney.

"Lucy! I'm so glad you're here," Nini sighed of relief. Suddenly her eyebrows furrowed. "Lucy, are you okay? You look like you've been crying."

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just... angry. Sorry it took me a minute to get in here, I was ranting to Ricky about something," Lucy sighed.

"What happened?" Kourtney asked worriedly.

"Ej is an idiot, no offense Nini," Lucy sighed, putting her hair up in a bun to keep it out of her face after propping her phone up on her windowsill.

"No! I wholeheartedly agree with you!" Nini told her honestly. "Did you know he stole my phone?"

"I had suspicions about it, and I guessed it the other day. I told him if he didn't tell you I was gonna team up with the twins against him. He wrote you a song to say sorry by the way," Lucy explained to her.

"How do you know that?" Kourtney asked confusedly.

"I had to hear it," Lucy grumbled, grabbing her phone again and laying on her back now.

"God, I can't believe him! Why would he steal my phone?! Now Ricky thinks I betrayed him—"

"Ricky's fine. He knows the truth, and he's not mad at you," Lucy assured her.

"That makes me feel the slightest bit better. I just— how dare he? How could he do this?!" Nini grabbed her pillow from her bed and screamed into it.

"Let it out, Girl. I did the same thing when I got home from laying into Ej," Lucy sighed.

"You yelled at him? For what?" Nini asked, quickly picking her head up from her pillow.

"You know how Ricky accidentally hit Ej in the face with the ball today? Well I helped Ej get cleaned up and like got him ice and whatever, and I was gonna talk to Ricky about it later to get his side of things and remind him that we don't resort to violence when we're fighting with people. However, when I got back to the bathroom to give Ej ice and his jacket, Ricky was already there trying to apologize to Ej for what happened because he did actually feel really bad about it," Lucy began to explain.
