Delilah has never felt such freedom.

The chains weren't heavy. In fact, they were rather light, just like feather chains are supposed to be. Slithering around her wrists, barely noticeable, not leaving any marks. But they were trapping, locking her in her room with no way out. The chains were a constant reminder that she will never escape this place in time, spend years alone while longing for her mates in a pitiful silence. Her sister could've killed them for all she knows.

Delilah was sure that there was nothing in the world that could break those chains, other than her sister.

But the moment they slide off her wrists, Delilah feels relived. It's like the weight in her chest disappears, no matter how light the chains were. There is sentimental value in that moment, because suddenly everything that was burdening her is gone. There is no pain, no misery, no longing and no fear. She is free. Free to go anywhere that she wants no matter what. No longer are white chains around her wrists, her sisters evil words ringing in her ears or her mates horrified expressions when she passed out. There is only hope.

So much hope, she has never felt that much before. Delilah doesn't know where it all came from, but suddenly she feels strong and powerful. A buzzing feeling spreads from her chest to the rest of her body, and for the first time in days, a wide smile spreads over her lips. Her eyes sparkle in the pastel blue color, just like before. There is light inside of Delilah again, and she can thank herself for it. The angel feels strong, and she's not going to let that go to waste.

More than anyone, Delilah knows that she has to be smart in these kind of situations. Not get too excited and ruin everything. She no longer has the privilege of walking out of here and through the portal without being questioned, because now they do care about her, just not for the right reasons. So she does everything that she can to make sure that nothing can go wrong. Delilah hides the dagger in her dress pocket and quickly runs into her bathroom. She knows that there is no rush, because she has already waited six days, what's a few hours more?

Delilah showers carefully, washing her hair and body from all the dirt and sweat. When she is finished, the gentle steam engulfing the room in warmth, she steps out of the shower and brushes through her hair carefully. Delilah puts up her light blue locks in a tight bun, fasting it with pins and strings. When she is finished with that, her shaky and nervous hands reach for a pink scarf. She wraps the fabric around her head, covering all of her hair. Looking into the foggy mirror, Delilah smiles in satisfaction and leaves the bathroom.

The sun slowly slides down the horizon while Delilah gets ready to leave. She pulls on one of her simpler white dresses, with a few blue decorations like crystals and strings. Then she drags a white cloak over her, and a pair of heavy brown boots for comfort. Lastly, Delilah is a little hasty when she cleans her golden sword and puts it in her belt. This time, she's going to make sure to use it. This time, she won't go down without a fight. Delilah also hides her dagger in one of her pockets, if she would ever need to escape from strong chains again. She runs to the kitchen and packs her brown bag filled with food, before calming herself and taking a deep breath.

Last time she left in a rush. Nobody was there to stop her.

This time she needs to be tactical. Delilah can't afford her escape being busted, because Aarin isn't dumb. She put Delilah in feather chains, thinking that they are the only material that cannot be broken no matter what. Who knows what extreme measures she will take to keep Delilah trapped, if she finds out that the younger princess has escaped the chains too? Delilah shudders as she thinks about it. Would her sister cut off her legs so she couldn't run? Would she throw her in the darkest parts of the dungeon, have a thousand guards guard her? Would she starve her to the point of being too weak to move, or maybe constantly drug her to sleep? Delilah feels like she doesn't even know her sister anymore, so anything is possible.
