"To be a good killer, you need to eliminate all empathy"
Acasea stands above her first victim, tears falling down her eyes. In her palm lays a sharp, thin dagger. Blood drips from the black metal and onto the ground, and the smell enters her nostrils. For years now she has learned to control her emotions, but the demon can't help but shake as she stares down at the corpse. Her first ever kill.
It's always hard the first time, for everyone.
But in the future she will fight and kill hundreds, thousands of people, in both war and outside of war. Killing one person is just a start. Acasea feels like screaming and crying, taking this persons life just feels so wrong. But she stops herself, because above her stands one of her teachers. He holds a black umbrella over his head, his glasses fogged up by the heavy rain. With gloved hands he smoothly takes the dagger out of Acasea's hands, and wipes it with a red handkerchief.
He looks down at her with strict eyes.
"If you can't eliminate your emotions, you can't kill"
Acasea can only wipe her tears, letting the heavy rain drum on her back.
"I advise you to work on your priorities. Your success, meaning your life, or this man's life?"
Acasea makes a quick swing to the left, avoiding her father's sharp sword, Helga going to the right. She manages to get closer and try to attack him, but Azradan leans backwards. The haste of the situation has him stumbling. Acasea manages to land a nice cut through his left arm, until he regains his balance and takes a step backwards, out of reach. Helga and Acasea have only fought him for about a minute, and it's a constant game of push and pull. He attacks, they back away, they attack, he backs away. And if they are not fast enough, a nasty bruise is laid somewhere near their vital organs. Because despite them having the same speed, Azradan has years of experience, and therefore more accuracy.
Their strategy is dangerous. Helga and Acasea have fought together before, but never with the same opponent. Their teamwork is not what it could be, considering that they haven't trained together before. Only fought against each other. Azradan is also a very powerful demon, with a lot of strength and a lot of knowledge and ancient techniques that might catch them off guard. All of these things make the fight unequal, and Acasea fears they might loose.
But of course, an angel comes to their rescue. And by angel, she of course means an actual angel Delilah, and their angel-like Moonwitch mate Maarya. She would've expected the two to be guarding each other and fighting off other opponents, keeping their fight with Azradan undisturbed. But suddenly Delilah has her sword drawn out, standing by their side, and Maarya is somewhere a little further away, constant beams of magic coming Azradan's way.
Acasea looks around herself, and notices that her friends have all come to help them. After weeks of being apart, and a rough ending inside the forest, Sun, Vorigan, Snow, Geir and Gerbjörn have all come to the battlefield. The three shifters, witch and vampire fight off whatever demons that want to help Azradan. Most of the battle is now concentrated around Azradan and his daughter fighting, many not fighting, only waiting for this battle to end. The ones who are still fighting are being taken cared off by their troops, led by the older leaders like Maryann, Vivy, Cassy, Donovan and Dario.
