I sit at the picnic table for a little bit longer while reading, also watching the sunrise and seeing more and more cars start driving through the roads as it's getting time for a lot of people's jobs and now school.

I hear twigs snapping and leaves crunching, I put my book down and turn to see Adrian. He sits down next to me at the picnic table, smiling as usual.

"Hi," he says and I smile, giving a small wave. "You like reading?" He asks as he points to my book, I nod. He grins, thinking for a moment as if he's taking notes. "I think Ashton's skipping today, so Danny will be too since he'll be left without us." I nod and wonder about Divine. "So they might come with us wherever we go, unfortunately." I laugh when he rolls his eyes about them. "Divine, ask her if she wants to skip too?"

I nod right away, grabbing my phone and texting Divine. I texted her just in time, her saying she was just on her way to school. She says she asked her mom, who thankfully said yes-but only for today Divine adds.

"Ashton wants us to pick him and Danny up," he rolls his eyes again, making me laugh. "Will Divine need a ride?" I shake my head, she said she was walking to school today and was already almost here.

Then I remember having to call school so dad doesn't know I've skipped, and it's like Adrian's read my mind. "Oh, do you want me to call school or have you handled it already?" I shake my head, and he nods. I thank him, by typing on my phone a million times, when he calls school again for me. Making me laugh with that horrible fake voice to act like my dad.

We wait on Divine for a few more minutes, her coming up behind me and hugging me. I hug her back as I stand, as Adrian does too. "So, what's it like to skip? I've never done this before." Divine's goody two-shoes side comes out now.

"It's nothing special," Adrian laughs. "What should we do?" We three walk towards his car, Divine lets me sit up front.

"What is there to do around here?" There really isn't much when we live in a small city.

"Uh well," Adrian pauses and looks at me, worry washing over his face. "There's..." He pauses again as I pull out my phone, typing.

What about the skating rink? I'll end up regretting this if we're to go there, I know. But it'll be fun at least. I also don't know why I even ask about it, knowing I don't even have money for the skates or entry fee. It's only like twenty bucks but that's money I don't have and if I did have it I'd need to save it.

"Oh, yeah the skating rink, even though it's still very early. At least there won't be really anyone there," Adrian goes on and I smile, remembering there'd be very little people. I don't really like people, or I do, I just prefer to not be around them.

I look back at Divine, she's sitting on Adrian's side, but she looks worried about going there. And I know why she'd be worried. I look straight ahead, avoiding her gaze as I start typing again, gaining Adrian's attention.
