Everything felt perfect, they were in a field of flowers... The wind softly brushing against them, swaying back and forth while embracing one another.
Until Mei abruptly let go and pushed him back. He looked at her with slightly wide eyes.
She stayed silent.
Awaiting his next move...
Still not ready to make a decision.
"Mei." He started with a soft voice. Corpse took her hand in his, raising it to his lips. A slow kiss on the top of her hand, she watched him as a blush threatened to appear on her cheeks.
She snapped out of her trance and pulled her hand away.
"What was that for?" She asked, glaring at him. His expression didn't change.
She had been so out of it in the beginning, after wandering outside and getting lost but she couldn't just back down because he was her prince charming. Saving her from absolutely nothing.
What was she so scared of anyways?
Grass?
"It's a promise." He spoke, his words passing around in her mind.
"A promise?" repeated Mei, not understanding. He took her hand again and planted another kiss. She scoffed and pulled her hand away again.
Not noticing the ring he had slipped onto her finger.
"Stop doing that!" She demanded with a huff
"Why?" He asked
"Explain yourself. What's the promise?"
"Look at your hand Mei." He spoke, gesturing to her finger.
Mei's eyes quickly snapped onto her hand. A black ring that twirled around her finger...
"A promise ring?" She asked, confused. He nodded. "Why- why would you give this to me now?" She choked out.
"I bought it for you... I was planning to give it to you later but." spoke Corpse before stopping. Not willing to finish the sentence. Mei filled in the blanks though...
But there won't be a later
"So, this is it?" She asked, her eyes stuck on the ring. Not being able to look him in the eyes.
"Is it?" He asked
"I don't know." left her mouth.
"I don't either."
"Why does It have to be?" She found the courage to say it.
"I don't want it to be." He confirmed
"I don't either."
"Then let's-"
"But I can't just forget." She cut him off
"Mei. I didn't mean what I said."
"That's not the point!" She huffed "You didn't even hesitate!" Her eyebrows narrowed in frustration.
