surprise proposals

we have done a lot of shopping but not for Xavier, we bought ourselves dresses, there was a sale going on which made us even more lucky. 

For almost 4 hours of continuous shopping. we were very tired, and we haven't even bought a single thing for Xavier yet, So we decided to take a break have some food and then go buy some gifts. 

Tiana's P.O.V

we are now in the food court of the mall, Mel's and Ash left to order something for all of us, Now that it is only me and Amber, I decided this is the best time to talk to her about what happened yesterday.

she is sipping her drink she brought before while scrolling through her phone so I started talking. " Amber I have to tell you something."

"Go on" she said not looking at me still scrolling through her phone. So I continued " so yesterday after I dropped you at your dorm rooms, I headed back home and when I was passing by my parents room I heard them talk about you.

At the mention of her she stopped scrolling and paid her complete attention to me and asked,      " about me?" 

I just nodded and continued talking, " Even though I feel guilty that I haven't identified her when we first met her at the hospital, I am very happy that at least we found her." My mom said.

"You don't have to feel guilty, you haven't seen her before, though she does resemble both, she has the same eyes as her father. If you are guilty that you didn't recognize her, I treated her very bad, how guilty should I feel, so as you know the guilt that you are feeling will not take you anywhere. We just need to make sure that we try our best and take care of her from now on." my dad consoled her.

"we don't know what happened or how her life was in the past but I had this weird feeling like she flinched when Tiana was about to mention about her past," My mom said as if she knew something is wrong right away and my dad agreed to it and said "I noticed that too." 

"oh my god, your mom and dad noticed that." I said gasping

"we met her twice and we should not expect her to tell everything, we need to give her time to adjust, hope she will be around us more." My mom tried to explain her self.

"From the little knowledge, that I got yesterday, even though she is taken away by Mr. and Mrs. Stone, I am sure they did not raise her, I think it was her aunt , and she did a very good job , everything that she is now, how kind and respectful she is , we have to thank her. " My mom said.

"when you were in the hospital I treated Tiana very bad that no one can imagine, if they were here they would be ashamed of me and throw me out of the house and they themselves would have taken care of her, I still feel guilty for what I did to Tiana  and then when I met Amber for the first time, I was very harsh to her and Tiana while Amber defended her and protected her and now she has forgiven and forgotten everything as if that never happened. So all I have to do now is do exactly what they will do, take care of her." my dad said with tears welling in his eyes.

"oh god I told you to stop feeling guilty, you just were out of control because I wasn't good, ok you tell me if I was good, fit, healthy , would you have done that." my mom asked him.

"never in a million years." he said shaking his head. 

 there you said it your self." my mom stated as if it is obvious.

"but, shouldn't it be more of a reason why I need to keep myself together and take care of her and instead tell her do the work for me. I tortured her Bella." My dad said now tear rolling down his eyes

"Look at me Andrew, I know you made the wrong choice and I also admit the way you dealt with the issue is totally wrong but what matters the most here is you accept your mistake, you know you did the wrong thing and you are ready to do anything for her to forgive you and Tiana our wonderful daughter anyone can ask for has been seeing you putting efforts and she has forgiven you so stop feeling guilty." Mom said all the while holding his cheeks and looking into his eyes.
