Monday morning Izuku was packing his bag to head back to college. He didn't have any classes on Mondays so he could leave when he wanted. He had spent the weekend thinking about everything that had happened plus everything his mother had said. Honestly he still wasn't sure what to think at this point. Maybe he should let Katsuki say what he wanted even if it was something the greenett didn't want to hear, that thought made his stomach turn with anxiety, he just didn't know if his heart could handle the possible words of rejection he was sure was on the blondes tongue. He sighed throwing his bag over his shoulder and heading downstairs.
" All set to go?" , his mom asked with a smile standing in the livingroom once he had made his way down.
He smiled and nodded at her.
" Yup. And I'm sorry I didn't spend much time with you. I know it was like I was here, but I wasn't", he said softly.
" It's ok hunny, I know you had a lot on your mind. This is your safe place to fall whenever you need it." , she told him as she wrapped her son in a tight hug.
When she pulled away she looked into deeper emerald than her own.
" Izuku remember, life is full of risk, sometimes they fall through, but sometimes they pay off in a big way, you'll never know if you don't take them and follow through. You took a risk the other night, one that your positive fell through, but you can't be sure of that because you didn't see it to the end. Be brave, let him explain, and then maybe next time I see you you'll have the college quarterback with you" , she grinned at her son.
Izuku's face flushed crimson as he rolled his eyes at her.
" I ...I don't really think so mom. But I hear what your saying, I'll think about it. I love you, I'll text you when I'm back at school. " , he told her with one last hug as he headed out the door.
Two hours away Katsuki and Kirishima were walking down the university hallway to their next class.
The blonde's mind twisting still like it had been all weekend. It was finally Monday, he knew that little shit would be back sometime today, he just wasn't sure when. Suddenly a redhead broke his consternation.
" Bakubro! Holy shit it's you man!"
Katsuki turned to see Kirishima looking at something on the wall outside the photography classroom.
He furrowed his brow not knowing what the hell this extra was talking about. He moved closer to inspect what was on the wall.
His breath caught in his chest when he saw what it was, he knew instantly who's work it was.
There on full display as the best and top graded project of the class was a photo Izuku must have taken that night Katsuki had brought him to the clearing on the ridge.
It was of Katsuki, he wasn't looking looking at the camera, he was looking up with a big smile on his features. The stars in bright full view all around him in the background. He remembers exactly when he had smiled like that. It was when the greenett was joking about how he'd one day tell everyone that Katsuki Bakugo had taken him to his hiding place when he was a famous footballer player.
Katsuki was caught completely off guard right now, having no idea the picture had even been taken, that little shit was just that good. And as if this wasn't enough what really was making the blonde feel like his damn heart might jump right the fuck out of his chest right here in the hallway was the title of the photo.
Under the beautiful print it read.
" My Hero "
There was a heart tripping so hard against the blondes ribs it's all he could hear and fuck fuck fuck were these tears wanting to fall?!
