She tilted her head to the side.

Paul: Trust me, silly girl. We will find out who did this to us. Follow my lead.

I walked towards the closet, picking out the only outfit necessary for my plan.

Martha could be silly when she wanted to be, but in reality, she's quite clever. She jumped around in excitement. She knew that Detective Macca was soon to be on the case.

Paul: Shh. You need to keep it down, Martha. I don't want John to suspect anything just yet. Stay up here and wait for me.

I stood alone at the top of the stairs, calling for John as child would to their mother.

Paul: Johnny?

John: Yes, Paul? Do you need something?

Paul: Can you get George and Ringo over here?

John: Sure thing, Macca.

Success. It's all coming together, right now, over me...

A few minutes later, the remaining Beatles arrived and gathered around. I had relaxed myself back in the comfort of my bed, simply pretending to feel worse than I actually was.

George: You doing alright, Paul?

Paul: Oh, I'm much better than I was earlier. I only called you all up for one thing...

I hopped up, revealing my costume and the others' on the edge of the bed.

John: Oh no, not on your life, Macca. You're probably just delusional. You need to rest.

Detective Macca: It's Detective Macca to you, Constable Lenny. Don't worry, I feel fine, and us detectives are going to solve this mystery.

John: Are you sure? I don't want you to get hurt, um...Detective Macca.

Detective Macca: I'll be fine. If something happens to me, I'll have you lads! Now assume your detective roles and take a magnifying glass.

Private Investigator Starr: Magnifying glass?

Detective Macca: I figured that if we were going to do this on a regular basis like we have been, we'll need some actual gear. All I've got are these, but I'm in the process of getting some better and more effective equipment.

Constable Lenny: *smiles widely* Are we going to have weapons?!

Detective Macca: *sighs* Most likely, if we use them properly.

Inspector Harrison: That's not the point. Anyway, how will we even find the criminal? We know absolutely nothing.

Detective Macca: Martha can come with us. She probably knows more than-*screams loudly*

Constable Lenny: Gosh, Detective Macca, are you trying to deafen us?

Detective Macca: Today can't get any worse...Martha is gone!

Private Investigator Starr: But we've already done that mystery...

Inspector Harrison: Well...the only logical thing to do is go to the police station.

Constable Lenny: But we're the detectives! It's our job!

Inspector Harrison: Do you have a better idea?

Constable Lenny: No...

Private Investigator Starr: Y'know, this story is quite similar to another mystery...I mean, we have magnifying glasses, Martha is gone, and we're going to the police.

Detective Macca: Hush, Private Investigator Starr. Don't tell the world that. This is different, I promise. Now, to the police station, away!

Away...

Constable Lenny: We've been waiting for hours! What could they possibly be doing that's more important than our crime?

Detective Macca: It hasn't been hours, Constable Lenny. They're probably just on their lunch break, or maybe they're dealing with something else.

Private Investigator Starr: Or solving a crime better than we can...

Inspector Harrison: Don't say that. One day we'll be the best. One day...

Officer: Oh, hey. It's you costumed strangers again. What is it now?

Detective Macca: *takes off costume*

Officer: *eyes widen* Oh, yes. The Fab Four. What's your issue?

Detective Macca: Martha is missing again. And I was robbed last night.

Officer: Well, I might have the answer to all of your problems.

The officer walked into her back room, guiding Martha out with the backpack in her mouth.

I was speechless. I could have fainted right there. How is this even possible?

Constable Lenny: You'wha? But how?

Martha strolled up to me, dropping my backpack and mentally revealing all that was lost.

Detective Macca: Oh, Martha, you're the best! *hugs*

Inspector Harrison: Uh...what did she tell you?

Officer: I found her outside while on patrol. She seemed aggravated and ready to attack, similar to a rabid dog. I knew she wasn't; I saw her collar. I took her back to the station, placing her in the back. I hadn't even sat down before I heard her howling and growling at a picture. That picture was your thief. I took her with me and went on an adventure to track him down. You see, we've been trying to capture that master thief for years, and with your sheepdog's help, we did it, and retrieved your backpack. Y'know, she's a really good police dog. Maybe you should let her help you with your mysteries.

Detective Macca: Great idea! Would you like that, silly girl?

She jumped around and barked.

Private Investigator Starr: We'll take that as a yes.

Yep, Martha is officially part of their detective team now. 😊
