Rosie and Matt burst into the dining hall, with Olivia and Paige on their heels. Rosie looked around the table. Everyone she loved was there.
Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather were sitting on the right side of the table. Rosie's and Matt's parents all sat around the head of the table. On the left side, Neva, Mikayla, Jenny, and Aidan were all sitting and leaning closer to Rosie.
"What's the big news?" Jenny cried as soon as they walked in the door. "Olivia said there was big news. What is it?"
"Are you sure you want to know?" Matt asked patronizingly.
"Yes!" cried the left side of the table in unison. They burst out laughing.
"Please!" added Neva.
"What's going on?" Jenny squealed.
"First, this is Paige," Rosie started. "Paige was one of the girls kidnapped and rescued with Olivia."
"Oh, my dear, I'm so sorry," said Flora.
"As am I," added Fauna.
"Nice to meet you and all," interrupted Merryweather. "But what is this news, Rosie?"
"And Matt," Matt said. "Don't forget me!"
"We'll never forget you, Matt," Aidan agreed. "But what's this news?"
Their parents sat there silently, as if they knew what had happened.
"Mom, Dad, are you okay?" Rosie asked.
"Fine," Queen Bella said slyly. "Now, what is this thrilling news?"
"And what does Paige do for a living?" King Nathan added.
"Are you hungry, dear?" King Derek asked.
"There's plenty of food," Queen Hayley said cheerfully.
Rosie and Matt exchanged glances, grinning evilly.
"Sounds delicious," Rosie grabbed a bowl of pomegranate seeds and started eating them.
"Oooh, share!" Matt said, grabbing a few.
"What is going on?" Mikayla burst, exasperated. "What's the news?"
"I'm starving," Rosie mumbled around the pomegranate seeds. "Give me a minute."
The fairies looked at each other, and Fauna gasped.
"What?" asked Jenny, looking at her. Fauna grinned.
"Nothing," the fairies chorused.
"Okay, who has no idea what's going on?" Aidan asked, sighing.
The left side of the table raised their hands.
"Rosie, please tell us what's going on," Neva pleaded.
Rosie and Matt looked at each other and grinned.
"I'm expecting," Rosie finally said.
Their parents, and the fairies, smiled and nodded. Jenny and Mikayla gasped and started squealing. Aidan and Neva just looked a little confused.
"Expecting.... what?" Aidan asked.
"A baby!" Rosie laughed. Neva gasped, jumped up, and ran to give Rosie a hug.
"Huh?" Aidan muttered, totally confused.
"Rosie's pregnant," Matt translated for him.
"Oh," Aidan nodded slightly. "Congratulations. And nice job, Matt."
