°Personality°

Nao is just: baby. Let's get that out of the way, he is super duper baby. He is a happy boy who only wants justice and what's best for the people he loves. Ever since he was 5, and won a game of clue against his family, he always felt he had a knack for solving crimes. He would do anything he could to try and play the detective in his family, and solve any sort of "mystery" he could. From finding his little sisters lost plushie, to who pushed his friend on the playground. He was a bit of a teachers pet, but he didn't mind, he just wanted to make people happy. His role model was always his grandfather, who worked as a private investigator back in Japan before they came to the US. He rarely got to see his grandfather, but when he did, Nao would always cling onto him and ask to hear different stories.
He did everything he could to try and help out different people. But of course, to help people the first thing you need to do is get an education. He does pretty well in school, and is one of the best problem solvers in his grade. He was able to solve almost every riddle thrown at him, and was always down for solving different small mysteries that came around.
Despite his incredibly baby he is, he's not at all innocent. He's not afraid of things like blood, gore, or murder. Instead, he will go up and even touch things most would be repulsed by, if it meant getting closer to funding the truth behind the mystery. In all honestly, Nao is a pretty fearless guy is isn't scared to do what it takes to find out the truth. This of course, can create strange... suspicions around him. His indifference to things like knives, blood, murder and crime can make people wonder if he's the reason behind it all. Is he causing these crimes that he wants to solve for himself to look better? Nooo that's crazy... but I mean
There's no proof against it.
But he's like, Nao, and the best ever/j so he would neverrrrr
But, like everyone, he is f a r from perfect. He has a bit of an ego and it's hard for him to admit when he's wrong. He will keep chasing some fake narrative for as long as it takes as long as it doesn't mean having to admit he wasn't right and starting all over again. He also can be quite clingy to people he loves which can get, you know, annoying as heck.

°Backstory°

Ever since he was a little boy, as stated before, Nao always wanted to try and solve mysteries. He wanted to solve the unsolved and try and help out his family, which consisted of him, his mom, his dad and his younger sister Chiyo. That aside, he grew up with a pretty good and normal home life. A loving family, does well in school, yadda yadda yadda. Last summer he was able to get a volunteer job at a law firm, being able to sit down and take notes and analyze as he watched everything go down. And also like... get coffee for people and chips. But that's fine, he was just happy to be there!! Oh also, he wasn't born in the United States. He lived in Japan for 2 years before his family, that being his mother, father and grandfather moved to the United States for his fathers job. Because he was so young, and he only ever returns maybe once a year or so to visit family or small vacations for cultural festivals and New Years, he doesn't really see it as his first home, and doesn't long for it. Solving mysteries, adventures, board games, family, chocolate, bunnies, ferrets, thinking about his future and the occupation he desperately dreams to go into, literally anything under the mystery genre.

°Dislikes°

Anything unsolved, being told what he can and cannot do, being proven wrong, seeing people in pain, dogs, which is ironic cause sometimes he acts like a little puppy oops.

°Flaws°

As mentioned before, he has a bit of an ego. He refuses to admit when he's wrong and when he's right he's known to flaunt it a little with pride. Also clinginess, whether that be to fame, a case, or a person.
