It's been a long time, and it seems you finally woke up. You don't know what it was, a dream? A nightmare? Yet neither of those are true. It was all real. You lived, you died, and lived again. But you're back. Somehow. Nothing changed, except you. L...
You opened your eyes, calmly at first. It felt weird, like you're waking up from a never-ending dream. Your vision cleared as you saw... Your apartment.
'What the hell?' you thought as your eyes adjusted to the dark.
You quickly sat up and looked around, wondering if you were dreaming. To your surprise, you weren't.
You stood up from your bed and walked around your small yet comfortable apartment, dragging your fingers along the wall as you walk to the living room.
You looked outside to see the city of New York, lighting up the night as usual.

You couldn't believe it, you were actually back.
'Was it a dream?' You asked yourself in your mind.
Walking to the mirror, your eyes narrowed as your previous question just got answered.
"God damn..." You whispered as you traced your fingers across a few scars on your body, which you got in your, let's say previous, life. Along with the few scars were your muscles which you gained from relentless training.
You sat down on the sofa and stared puzzled at the ground for a while, trying to make sense of everything.
RING RING RING
You looked at the table and it was your phone ringing, you picked it up and looked at the caller, it was your uncle, Nicholas.
It took you a few seconds to click the button to answer the call, it felt so weird yet so normal and familiar, like you've never done it yet like you've done it your whole life.
You slowly put the phone up to your ear and asked...
"... Hello?"
.
.
.
You sat in the bar with your uncle, who called you out to drink because he came back from a big business trip which was a great success for his job. Yes, he's plenty rich. He always tries to give you a job at his company or give you money even, but you always refused. After your parents' death in a car crash he took care of you, you didn't want to be a burden to him anymore.
"So, got any women lately?" He asked with a snicker as he sipped his beer.
"Haah, I wish." You said with a smile while still accomodating to being back.
"I know I asked you many times before, but you can easily land a job at my place, you'll have great salary and-"
"And I told you many times old man, I don't want it. You've done too much for me as it is, I'm thankful for that." You said as you sipped your beer as well.
"If that's what you want, then I won't push on it. But remember, the spot is always open for you." He said nodding towards you.
