••••••••••••••

TP POV:

Athena is an ancient god. Yes, a god not a goddess. A god that shares the title of war with Ares. He is wise and sharp. The best war strategist among all the gods. He has taught Poseidon all he knows today.

But the name Athena is feminine. Thus the mortals misconceived him for a woman for many generations.

You don't want to be seen as something you're clearly not. Athena was the same. But alas, such was his fate. The god had unrivaled wisdom, yet even he could not think of a way to end this misunderstanding. And seeing the Daagi kingdom worship him as a goddess as well was very amusing. "Poor Namjoon Hyung" Jeongguk whispered and sighed to himself.

"What brings you here your majesty?" Taehyung spoke as he stood up from his deep bow.

The prince had on a white royal robe with blue embroidery on the fabric. His entire attire was pure white, making him glow from the lights of the prayer hall. He looked a complete contrast from the god adorning all black and red.

"I was walking around aimlessly and found myself here your highness," Jeongguk replied curtly. "I see, so what is your opinion of our prayer hall sire?" The beautiful human asked with his sparkling blue eyes. "I find it quite beautiful your highness. But in my curiosity, I noticed that the statutes seem to have slight alterations from what I know" Jeongguk pointed out amused.

Taehyung looked at him a bit bewildered for a moment, "you worship the Olympian gods as well?" He asked surprised. Jeongguk chuckled attractively, "no dear prince. I do not worship your gods. I know of them. Quite a lot." Hades was having a bit too much fun teasing the Omega.

Because who would tell the pretty silver-head that he himself was a god the Omega worships.

"How so? have you read many books of them?" the omega's eyes glittered in fascination. The god couldn't help but coo at the sight. "You could say that I have been very exposed to the Olympian gods and have somewhat of a vast knowledge. You could ask me anything to quench you curiosity my prince. I can see you are very interested." Jeongguk enjoyed the pink blush that spread across Taehyung's cheeks. The Omega pouted slightly and had to look away from the extremely attractive man before him.

"Very well. I will ask a few questions then." the Omega replied, not ready to back down. "ask away little prince" Jeongguk accepted the offer with a charming smile. "You said there are a few alterations to the statues. May I ask what they are?" was the first question the prince asked. Jeongguk suppressed the urge to smirk.

"Shall we start with Poseidon?" he asked. Taehyung failing to see the glint of mischief in his eyes nodded enthusiastically. "Poseidon is shorter than most Olympian gods. He also has short hair" Jeongguk bit back a snicker as Taehyung 'oh'ed in fascination. The god could already feel Jimin's glare.

"Next is Zeus. Zeus actually doesn't have such a youthful appearance. He looks as old as the millenniums he has reigned over Olympus. I believe it was because of a curse from Aphrodite after his affair with her." There is a bitter taste in the way Jeongguk talks about Zeus. But thankfully Taehyung didn't notice, and if he did he didn't say anything. He just listened very attentively.

"The two moon goddesses are actually very accurate. Aphrodite however dresses more modest than what the statue portrays." Jeongguk decided to brush away on the "chest" subject. That wasn't a very appropriate thing to talk about. Taehyung seemed to flush a little at that statement anyway. "And Athena is actually male." Now that had the prince gasping in shock. "Is that really true your majesty?!" Taehyung was beyond surprised. When Jeongguk nodded it had the prince looking at him in disbelief.

"What about Demeter?!" the prince exclaimed curiously. "No No, Demeter is quite accurate as well. It's just that she has much longer hair" Jeongguk watched how he sighed in relief. Seems the prince thought Demeter also might be male.

"That scared me for a second. I view Demeter as the mother I never had you see." a solemn look washed over the Omega's face. Jeongguk's heart clenched at the sight. "May I ask what happened?" he asked softly.

"She died when I was young. I have no memory of her. She never got her portrait done so I don't even know what she looked like." Taehyung said in a tender voice. "I'm sorry to hear that prince" Jeongguk sympathized. What a tragedy.

"It's alright. It was a long time ago. How about you tell me about Hades. I have a feeling you know more about him than the rest" The Omega said with a rather cheeky tone. Hades chuckled at the statement because he couldn't be more accurate. "Well... Hades does not  have wings or horns or a tail. He has nothing to do with snakes either. And he had a trident but never used it. I have no idea how those rumors ever came about!" It was clear that the raven was more passionate about Hades than the other gods. It made the prince giggle lightly. "I'll believe you your majesty" Taehyung said between his laughter. Jeongguk huffed but couldn't help the upward tug of his lips.

"I wonder why you have these selection of gods and goddesses specifically for the prayer hall though?" The raven asked curiously. Taehyung's eyes seemed to sparkle brighter at the question. The boy was so passionate about his faith, it was endearing.

"This is our tradition. These statues have been here for centuries. Every Daagian from the earliest generations have worshiped these deities." The Omega started. "The skies above and the ground below, and also the vast ocean no one knows the end of, these are the things that surround us and keep us alive. They represent life. And we celebrate life by worshiping Zeus, Demeter and Poseidon." Taehyung's eyes wandered over the statues as he spoke.

"Then there is the beautiful bond of marriage, love and mates, the reason we live for. Thus we worship Aphrodite. And as Daagians, we are warriors. Our duty to the Kingdom is part of our being. So we worship Athena. And of course, the goddesses of the moon, the reason for our existence. We worship the gods that represent all the meaning of our lives" the blue-eyed explained with a soft smile. As if his bond to them was much deeper than what was humanly possible.

Jeongguk listened to the explanation attentively, a smile adorning his lips. "Then why do you worship Hades? He defies all the reasons of life and is evil, the statue clearly shows so" the raven asked  once more.

The smile Taehyung gave in return was something Hades had not expected. He expected to see scorn, disapproval, or maybe even disgust. But that smile didn't show a shred of negativity. Which was odd since he was used to people scorning at him for what he his.

"All the gods in this hall represents the celebration of life, except for Hades. Only he represents the dead. You cannot appreciate life if you don't acknowledge death. Hades is not evil. He is simply doing his part in the universe. Without him there would be no flow of life. So we are grateful. We worship him for that is how you respect the afterlife. If you disrespect Hades, You disrespect the dead. Your loved ones who have passed on are Hades's responsibility. So He is the only one who could keep them safe. How could we possibly call that god evil?" those words struck the raven more than it should have.

No one had ever been grateful for what he does. Everyone hated him for the stench of death that followed wherever he went. And so to learn that he too was recognized and thanked was something new and somewhat overwhelming.

"That...is actually very beautiful dear prince" his voice almost gave out from how overwhelmed he was. The Daagi prince smiled brightly and whispered a small "thank you" to the raven king.

Taehyung was such a wonderful individual.
