TP POV:
Taehyung couldn't sleep. The constant agonizing wails of the tortured kept ringing in his ears like a nightmare symphony. The underworld was scary.
The castle itself was silent. So much so that the screams of the damned echoed against the black walls. This was like a sanctuary in the midst of an ongoing war. But much much worse.
When Yoongi first asked Taehyung if he could comprehend the fact that he was literally in hell, he thought he could. But he was wrong. Taehyung couldn't possibly fathom the intensity of the eternal prison when he had lived in paradise in comparison.
The omega had seen many wars, he's been among the soldiers. He's been one of them. However, the screams of those who were being slaughtered or the clanks of weapons couldn't even compare to the noises he was hearing now. It was hard to describe, but those screeching wails could send chills down your spine. Make you feel the pain.
Hell was scary.
And the castle was eery. Every hallway, empty. Every wall, furniture, plant, flower...black. It was all so dark. Not a single shed of light anywhere. To a nyctophobic this place would be their death sentence. Even when Yoongi briefly lit the main hall when he first arrived here, the place still somehow looked dark. It was almost as if no matter how much light you pour into this place the castle would just devour it.
It was an endless void of infinite darkness.
Taehyung couldn't stand the place. So he ventured out of his room. Trying to escape this calaboose even though he knew it wasn't possible. Hades's Castle was floating above hellfire and below the passageway to judgement. There was nowhere he could escape.
And to think he was only a guest. He couldn't even imagine how the tortured feel. He shivered at just the thought. And then there was also Hades himself. He couldn't fathom how the man stayed in this place for a thousand times his lifetime when he could barely tolerate mere hours.
And as if thinking about the said ravenette had somehow guided the omega to him, Taehyung found himself in Hades's throne room with no clue how he found it in this silent (not so silent) darkness.
"Taehyung? Why are you here? I thought you were resting" Jeongguk's face was scrunched up in confusion like an innocent child. But the omega knew he was anything but. Especially not sitting on that throne in his black, still revealing mind you, royal robes. "I tried but it was kind of hard to with all this noise." The silver-head replied awkwardly, still not used to his circumstances.
A sudden look of realization washed over Hades's face as if he just remembered this crucial fact. And then, his expression became somewhat apologetic. "I apologize my little prince. I have become so used to the screams that it did not occur to me that someone new would feel very uncomfortable" Taehyung didn't know why but that dialogue tugged on his heartstrings. It felt so sad.
"It's okay. I just need time to get used to it" The prince walked closer to Jeongguk's throne, scared and wary of the weeping male kneeling in front of the stairs leading to Hades's throne.
Funny how Jeongguk was probably the most dangerous one in this realm yet some illogical part of Taehyung's mind sought comfort and felt protected near him.
"That would be quite hard Taehyung. There is only one soundproof room in this castle. I will make sure to change your quarters there" Jeongguk answered warmly but he was oddly merciless to the person kneeling before him. He calmly ignored the man literally sobbing beneath his feet, not a shred of compassion in his eyes for the ragged male.
Taehyung diverted his eyes to and fro between them subtly. But Jeongguk of course noticed. And as soon as he did, a chillingly cruel grin spread across his face. Was the Jeongguk he knew always this brutal?
