TP POV:
After their little talk at the prayer hall, Taehyung found that he quite liked conversing with the raven "king". And it seemed the feeling was mutual. Taehyung's devotion led to curiosity and that often led him to Jeongguk's doors.
The latter having an obvious vast knowledge of the gods gladly answered any question the little Omega's head could come up with. More often than not, Taehyung's questions were amusing. And rather interesting. He truly was a devoted follower. It made Jeongguk wonder sometimes, what would the prince do if he suddenly found out Jeongguk was actually Hades?
Jeongguk now most times found the pretty prince accompanying him during his evening tea. Just like now as the raven sips on his rose fragranced tea sitting on a veranda chair, Taehyung sits a tea table apart from him on another chair with his own cup of tea asking random questions.
"Does Athena have a beard?" The fact that Taehyung could ask such questions so nonchalantly whilst sipping tea was probably the most amusing thing to Hades. "No. He doesn't." Jeongguk answered unfazed, already used to such opaque questions. The prince in return just hummed as he looked out to the vast greenery surrounding the castle. The evening breeze brushing away on his locks, the sound of crickets chirping were somewhat peaceful.
"On a more serious note, Do you know what the Moon goddess's name is your majesty? We all know of Artemis. However, we do not know the name of the moon goddess. I always wished to know what it was." The Omega's eyes sparkled with blue specks as he asked that question. Clearly, it would mean a lot to him to get an answer.
But unfortunately, that didn't happen. A sudden knock interrupted their conversation. "Prince Taehyung, his Majesty the king has asked for your presence your highness" the voice of a guard outside reached their ears.
"I will be there" Taehyung answered with brows furrowed in confusion. "Why would father ask for me at such a late hour?" The prince asked himself.
"Why? Does king Kim not call on you often prince?" Jeongguk asked though he wasn't really interested in the answer. "He does. But usually never at this hour. Father sleeps very early. He should have already gone to bed. Why is he still awake is the question" Taehyung explained his dilemma.
"Well, you should go and see what it's about. No benefit in fretting over it is there?" The raven argued. Taehyung hummed and politely took his leave afterward. Leaving Jeongguk alone in the veranda with the quietness of the night.
Jeongguk looked up at the night sky and sighed. "It seems lady Nyx is taking good care of her territory" Hades whispered to himself as he looked at the twinkling stars in the black sky. "So it seems" an otherworldly voice spoke from beside Jeongguk. He didn't need to look to know who was now occupying the prince's chair. "It's rude to eavesdrop you know" the raven mumbled and nonchalantly sipped on his warm tea. Completely unfazed by the abrupt visitor.
"We're gods Hades. Eavesdropping is part of what we do" the female voice mused unimpressed. Jeongguk just snorted, still not bothering to look at the new guest. The pink hue of his tea was far more interesting to him.
"It seems one of my children is curious about me" the clinking of cutlery could be heard in the deafening silence. It was clear the lady was helping herself to some tea. "why didn't you ever tell them your name?" Jeongguk asked actually curious. "They don't need to know" the lady mumbled. That made the raven furrow his eyebrows.
Jeongguk then turned to her for the first time. The lady had this bluish glow around her that just proved she was otherworldly. She had long silver hair and equally silver robes. White glitter sparkled around her like fairy dust as her skin gave out a godly shine. Her shining starry eyes stared at Hades with a soft smile dancing her lips. She was beautiful, to say the least. Worthy of being called the moon goddess.
"And why is that Selene?" The raven asked with a quirk of his eyebrow. Selene scrunched her nose in distaste. The expression looked foreign on her godly face. "I hate that name Hades" she grumbled and took a rather large gulp of the pinkish beverage. A pout played on her lips as she realized she drank most of the beverage in one go. For a goddess, she was very childish.
Hades just sighed not believing her at all. "we both know that's a lie, Selene. What is the real reason?" The raven asked once more. The moon goddess sighed lightly, understanding Jeongguk wasn't the type to let things be, "I cannot yet say. Just don't tell Taehyung my name. Not yet" she said so lowly that Hades almost missed it. A surprised furrow etched onto Jeongguk's forehead.
"Why the prince specifically? You aren't telling me that the reason your name isn't anywhere in human history is solely for the reason Taehyung might find out?" The god of the dead chuckled, it was far too ridiculous, even for him. That would be way too farfetched.
But his chuckling stopped mid-way when he realized Selene wasn't joining in. Hades's eyes went wide at the realization that his farfetched imagination might actually be the truth. "You must be joking. How is that even possible Selene!" He exclaimed bewildered.
Selene gave him a tired smile. "I cannot say. Just know that Mnemosyne has forbidden me" she replied. Jeongguk remained silent in shock. Things were getting more complicated by the second. The gears within Hades's mind started turning at the new information. A lot of things were in play. Such a delicately woven plot from so long ago, this was a ploy created either to change fate or because of fate.
Either way, Jeongguk was sure even the Moirai were involved. Just what exactly are they planning? What is going on? Hades's eyes flashed emerald and his jaw clenched when he understood that Taehyung might've been tangled with something way bigger than what the Omega was aware of. The gods up in mount Olympus were plotting something. And Jeongguk wasn't liking this one bit.
"I have to go now. Remember Hades, do not tell Taehyung my name" Selene's voice slowly faded as did her appearance until she vanished into thin air with nothing but her fairy dust left as a reminder. And Hades was yet again left alone as he stared at the now-empty chair with multiple thoughts haunting him.
Jeongguk leaned back and sighed, squeezing his eyes shut as he repeated the new revelations in his mind.
"Where are the hyungs when you need them" he sighed in frustration. He needed to find at least one of his three hyungs. He needs to talk about this. His head was about to explode from all these thoughts.
Things were getting too bizarre for his understanding.
