"When was the last time you slept," I scolded, looking into those enchanting blue eyes.
"Don't fucking worry about it," he mumbled. I can't believe this boy in front of me.
It's been two weeks already. Everything has been absolutely fantastic until this morning. I got a call from Mia telling me that Aiden hasn't been sleeping well.
I'm just trying to help.
We haven't been able to stay at each other's house since midterms are coming up. Aiden has bags under his eyes, and they surely aren't the expensive kind.
The white of his eyes is now red, and exhaustion is painted all over his face. "You need sleep," I cross my arms over my chest.
"And you need to leave me be." Aiden sneered. What the heck? Why is he being rude to me?
"I would watch my tone if I were you." I say sternly. I don't tolerate disrespect of this kind, no matter what. It just reminds me of mom's house.
"I do whatever the fuck I want." Aiden declared. He got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen.
I let out a tired sigh but followed behind him. "You know what you need?" I ask not letting him answer, "you need sleep." Aiden opens the fridge, rolling his eyes.
He's only tired.
"Juliet, go home. I don't need a fucking babysitter." He grumbled.
I'm so close to committing murder.
I feel my eyes narrow and my blood starts boiling. "Watch your mouth Aiden," the words come out harsher than expected.
Aiden just sighs and closes the fridge, leaving the kitchen without another glance. I close my eyes trying to control myself.
I hate getting ignored. I hate it with a passion. I lean the palms of my hands on the counter, taking a deep breath in.
I don't know how to work with Aiden. He hasn't been this way ever.
I know not everything is going to be unicorns and rainbows, but it would make everything much easier. I look up at the ceiling before turning to walk out of the kitchen.
I stop in my tracks seeing Mia with a sympathetic smile. "He's as stubborn as a mule and can be a real bitch when he doesn't sleep." Mia comes up to me rubbing my arm. "Don't worry too much about it, I'm sorry I called you. I thought he would listen to you, sweetie." She added.
"You don't have to apologize for anything. I'll get him to sleep even if I have to strap him down to that bed." I give Mia a reassuring smile before leaving the kitchen.
At least now I know he's going to be a butt for a while until he gets some sleep.
What a pain he is.
I walk inside his room, seeing Aiden sitting down gaming.
I'm for sure going to kill him if he doesn't sleep. "Aiden turn that off, and go to sleep," I feel like I'm talking to a child.
Is this what being a mother feels like.? God, I hope not. "Leave me alone." He doesn't take his eyes off the screen.
The bright light from the screen is going to strain his eyes. "Not until you go to bed," I shake my head, pointing to the bed.
"Don't tell me what to do," Aiden grumbles. Now I'm sure he is a child. I feel myself get more annoyed at the tired boy.
"You know you want some sleep," I say softly. Maybe if I say things softly it will get him to sleep.
