After Lilac and Ella split up from the rest of the group, Lilac took a look at the map Brook gave them. The map had two places marked. This was to help them figure out where they might find Crystal. Luminar was big enough to have two dungeons and both were disguised as buildings that led to cells underground. The sisters stopped to take a rest in a dark alley so they would have less of a chance getting caught.
"I'm so exhausted. Why did we have to climb over the wall? We didn't do anything wrong." Ella said. "After the conversation I had with Daika back in Jordan's hometown, I figured we would be on the royal army's list of people to look out for. I was also not going to take any chances with the front gate if you're tagging along with me." Lilac said.
"How is climbing a wall as tall as that any better? Any one of us could have slipped and fell." Ella said. "Ella, we don't have time to complain about this. Mari would have caught us if we did. Right now we're going to have to figure out how to get into these dungeons." Ella stood next to Lilac and looked at the map to help her brainstorm.
"Even if we figure out how to get in one of these dungeons, how do we figure out which ones she's in or if she's even being held captive in one at all?" Ella said. "We may have to just take a guess. As for actually getting in..." Lilac peered around the corner of the alley and looked out into the open. Lilac was on the lookout for a couple of knights.
Upon closer inspection, Lilac noticed that several knights would be walking aimlessly through the street, making their rounds. When Apollo took over, he turned the entire capital from a bustling city full of life into an emotionless military camp. Most of the citizens hardly came out of their homes and when they did they would almost always be attacked or scared back into hiding.
"We'll wait until a group of knights walk by. Do you remember that one thing you've always wanted to do?" Lilac asked Ella. "What thing?" Ella thought about it for a moment. "Oh That thing!" Ella said as she couldn't stop chuckling afterward.
A group of three knights eventually started walking by the alley they were in. All three of them suddenly tripped over thanks to the root Ella created from her magic. The roots stretched all the way back into the alley and were wrapped around each of the knight's ankles. One by one each knight was being dragged into the alley where Lilac was waiting to knock them out cold.
"What is knocking out three knights going to do? What's the plan?" Ella asked. Lilac technically knew that she only needed one but knocking out the other two would have made sure that there wouldn't be any witnesses. "Come on Ella. I'm sure you're clever enough to catch on." Lilac started taking off one of the knight's armor, leaving him in nothing but his trousers.
"You're getting in one of the dungeons disguised as a knight? But what about me? I'm sure that armor won't fit on me so how am I going to get in?!" Ella said. Lilac was equipping each part of the armor piece by piece. She finally got the helmet on her head when she started to realize how sweaty she was getting. Lilac was putting on full metal armor on a hot summer day. "You'll play the role of the prisoner." Lilac said.
Lilac strapped her axe to her back and held onto Crystal's sword. "I don't want to play as the prisoner. Your role sounds so much cooler." Ella complained. "Trust me, my role is not cool at all. It's freaking hot in this thing and it's a little uncomfortable to move around in." Lilac walked out into the open with Ella following her. Lilac memorized the way to one of the dungeons and tucked the map away into her pocket.
They received a couple of stares from the other knights and guards. For a moment Lilac thought the plan she made wasn't going to work but none of them tried to stop her. After some time they eventually made their way to a peculiar looking building with no windows and two knights guarding a large double wooden door.
