Sol was surprised to see a new fresh pair of clothes set out for him on the kitchen table when he woke up. There was a little note next to them that seemed to have been written by Lilac. Sol decided to read it out loud. "These are some of my dad's old clothes, you need something better to disguise yourself with which is why I'm giving you the hat as well. If you even think about losing these somehow or tear them up you're dead." That's when Sol noticed the funny looking hat at the end of the table.
It was basically a sun hat. Sol took the clothes set out for him and replaced his old yellow hoodie with a basic white tunic and some new trousers. "You have got to be kidding me." Sol said to himself as he reached out for the floppy looking hat. He wasn't too fond of wearing something like this but he understood what it was for. It was easier for Sol to cover his eyes with it on and he can easily obscure his face if he tilted it the right way.
He folded up his old clothes and set them in a closet. He didn't want to leave them behind but the plan was to meet up back at this cottage so Sol accepted it. Having clothing like that on him would only make him suspicious since that's what he wore when he left Luminar. Sol didn't have any convenient way of carrying his stuff anyway, he didn't even have a scabbard for his sword.
Before the thought escaped him, Sol took a cloth and wrapped it around his sword's hilt and pommel. It would be better to hide the fact he was carrying the Shining Giant with him, which might also be a dead giveaway to his identity. It may have not been the best disguise in the world but it was pretty much the best one he had. With a hearty breakfast and one foot out the door, Sol was ready to finally make his way to Azula Town.
For the most part, the trip was a little boring but Sol appreciated the scenery Lilac was talking about. The fields were blooming with flowers from as far as the eye could see. The light peered through the clouds and radiated the land. The flowers were a mixture of purple and pink and certainly looked their best with the sun beating down on them. He knew what kind of danger he was in, being on the run. However Sol felt excited to finally explore outside Luminar. He thought the world was his oyster. Sol's excitement was short-lived after he realized there were guards up ahead walking in his direction. All eight of them were on horseback.
It was time to see if the clothes Sol was wearing would work. With his left hand, he tilted the hat to obscure his face and took a look at his sword to make sure the cloth wasn't revealing any obvious spots saying that this was the Shining Giant. Of course Sol was carrying a weapon around without a scabbard so it looked bad regardless. "Stop." One of the guards halted him. The man got off his horse and made his way over to Sol.
His heart was beating faster. Sol thought he was a goner this time. "Where did you get that thing?" "O- oh! This? A friend gave it to me for my birthday. It looks cool right?" Sol had to say anything that immediately came to his head. The guard nodded but also frowned. "You should tell your friend that you shouldn't just carry weapons like that without anything to hold it in. Those things can be dangerous." "I'm sorry sir." That's all Sol could say. He was so nervous of getting caught that he almost didn't realize that his lie worked.
The guard turned around to one of his comrades and gestured him over. The other guard got down from his horse and took his sword out. This was the moment Sol thought he was going to die. Instead the second guard handed him over his scabbard and the young prince reluctantly took it from him.
"You're giving this to me? What about you?" Sol asked him. "We're trained professionals, I can just get another one later. Be safe and watch out for bandits. There seems to be a lot of criminal activity lately." Both of the guards got back on their horses and headed off. This was too convenient for Sol. He actually had something to carry his sword in besides his own hand.
