Luck liked to play basketball with Jisoo's heart.

She had lost Jennie in the crowd.

How was she supposed to find the small girl within the whole festival?

Not to mention the fireworks were set to go off in about 20 minutes and if she doesn't find her this moment, her total plan will be ruined.

It has been almost 2 months since their first date. Jisoo planned to ask out Jennie right before the fireworks.

She even got them matching rings. Simple but memorable.

Jisoo walked around all the stalls almost five times now. She couldn't even call Jennie since the younger girl had already mentioned her battery had run out.

How does someone lose their date?

Giving up, she sat down at the side of the stalls. She just watched as couples passed her, towards the open field so they could get a good spot.

She was about to stand up when someone walked up to her.

Thinking it was Jennie she quickly stood up and was about to hug her when she looked up to see two strangers.

"Hi! Jisoo, right? From SM high?" The girl gave her a flirty smile which clearly wasn't appreciated by the shorter girl beside her.

"And you are?" Jisoo still didn't know this girl.

"Sana. Minatozaki Sana from the drama club."

Sana went on about their upcoming play as Jisoo just looked around for Jennie.

"I actually have to go, I los-"

"Are you here with Lisa, Chu?"

"Actually, I'm in-"

"No, she's with me."

Jisoo felt a chill go down her spine as Jennie stepped beside her.

"Hi, I'm Jennie, Jisoo's date." Sana watched as Jennie pushed her hand off of Jisoo's arm with a smile and clinged on instead.

Sana's smile faltered but she recovered quickly and spoke to Jisoo again.

"You didn't tell me you have a girlfriend, Chu!"

CHU? Only I call her Chu!

Jisoo felt Jennie tighten her hold on her arm and just silently winced as she watched how Jennie somehow got Sana to leave them both alone with a smile.

Once they had left, Jisoo felt a chill down her spine again.

"You." Jisoo gulped at the complete change in Jennie's mood.

"You left me to flirt with some girls?"

"What?!? No, I would never! I was looking for you then I said down and they came..."

Jisoo rapped out her words as she defended herself.

Jennie was still annoyed and refused to hold Jisoo's hand as they walked to the field.

"Jennnn, I'm sorry."

Jennie internally smiled as Jisoo kept pouting and whined against her arm.

She pretended to be mad until Jisoo started to tickle her so she could laugh.

They ended up falling on the ground, as Jennie tried to defend herself from Jisoo who already had her arms wrapped around her.

Once the laughter died down, they realized how close they were to each other.

Feeling the tension, they both felt it hard to resist the urge to come closer.

Their moment was broken by the sound of the first firework flying toward the sky.

Not wanting to do anything before she had asked Jennie out, Jisoo quickly cleared her throat, breaking the tension.

Jisoo helped Jennie up and dusted off her dress. She didn't fail to notice the blush on her puffy cheeks.

Jennie eagerly watched the fireworks as Jisoo watched Jennie.

Not even the colourful sky could make her take her eyes off Jennie.

It was totally unfair how the light reflected off Jennie's face. Her cat eyes filled with the sight of the bright sky.

Jisoo's heart felt like she had just run 5 miles. She lost herself in the sight in front of her.

She reluctantly snapped herself out of the trance so she could ask out Jennie before the show ended.

"Jen." She softly called her name, not getting her attention.

"Jennie." Her girl finally turned around facing Jisoo.

"Chu, you're missing the sho-"

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Jennie was stunned. She has been waiting months for this.

"Jisoo..."

Jennie smiled as Jisoo pulled out a small box out of her pocket.

She watched Jisoo slip a ring onto her finger and then a matching one onto her own. Reading the engraving, Jennie felt herself fighting back a smile.

"I went back to the shop after our date to make those." Jisoo rubbed her back, nervous to hear Jennie's answer

"I'm not very good at it but I tried my best. It's okay if you don't like i-"

"I love it." Jennie cut her off with a hug as Jisoo's heart finally calmed down from the nervousness.

"So, does this mean you're my..."

"Girlfriend." Jennie shyly pushed her face into Jisoo's shoulder.

They both couldn't stop smiling as they let go of eachother. Their hands found their way back into each other.

Jisoo's gummy smile beamed at Jisoo's heart smile.

They both watched the fireworks end, not even noticing as they stared at each other with the biggest smile they have ever shown anyone.
